Hopefully the Cutter line is moving because bettors are thinking "if Slaf isn't there they take a similar player" and not "my friend in the NJ devils FO told me he's the pick if Slaf is gone"

Not to use too many horse racing/betting puns, but when it comes to the lines, there's always a pick for "show" in the betting lines. Houses love to put a stalking horse up there to lure in some easy money given the tight odds with Wright/Slafkovsky.

Good luck with that, it'll happen with literally anyone we pick including Wright although it won't happen with him until two years from now when Jiricek wins a Norris or Cooley wins a Conn Smythe and we have to argue about how it's a shame we didn't get the best player out of the draft

That's always the risk of draft picks? You have ZERO idea what the GM is going to do for the most part. This is part of the risk.

Yeah the Hawks made out the worst in all this for sure. Kyle Davidson's first trade isn't instilling much confidence in the fanbase thats for sure

I missed most of the discussion on this, but yeah, Chicago fans are understandably aren’t going to be happy here.

I would have been ok with a DriBrincat’s contract, he’s a great player even if the the contract situation makes it’s a bit iffy but I’m not shocked/angry that Fitz didn’t trade the 2nd for him. Didn’t expect it.

Odds don't go from 5-1 on Slaf a few weeks ago to being fave for no reason. Seem's more likely he goes first then not at this point.
