This is how you force dumb moves. Don't be impatient and do something just to do it.

Nothing definitive Gaudreau is interested in NJ, just speculation. Not to be annoying, but to be annoying, I’m doing something to win hockey games. Our management needs to show this fan base they are serious about winning hockey games. I give 0 f***s about this/that stat that says we are a good team with good goaltending (which is true!). We need to win hockey games, period.

I'm only even entertaining the deal for one of 2 or Holtz. I'm not including both.
I've been kind of a stickler for that same scenario, but #2 and Holtz for a 24 year old sharp shooting 40 goal scorer is probably mostly a fair deal.

The Debrincat/Gaudreau discussion will most likely end up being a moot issue once we select Slaf at #2 after the Habs do the EXPECTED and select Wright.

Just a feeling I have that this will be the end result after all the discussions...arguments...and so forth.

Hope so. I know Scott Wheeler said he thought it'd be Slaf but what he's heard since arriving in Montreal makes him believe it's Wright.

Eh I would have agreed 24 hours ago and most of this summer but there seems to be a LOT of smoke around the Habs taking Slaf at this point, and #2 being on the block. Usually by the day of the draft we know who the #1 pick is going to be anyway and there's still some doubt.

Yeah, if you're a team in for DeBrincat you have to make sure he'll sign an extension in place. Otherwise, there's no point of even acquiring him at that point.
