No but I don't actually think that's why Patrick busted, he just isn't any good. He played the majority of his first two seasons and was pretty Zacha-esque. He also played 52/56 games in the post-pandemic year and was awful.

Possibly, I do think injuries massively derailed his career though... How can you develop when your brain is scrambled at 19 years old?

I’d love to add that much skill but not two small guys and that would cost to s and we’d be too top heavy very soon. Hughes Bratt Nico Car Johhny then eventually Mercer Holtz Gritsyuk possibly .

you can never have enough talent. i don't care about size get the talent first then add size later. talent costs more then size.

if the devils did get cat then they 100% should still be kicking tires on johnny

I agree to an extent. Another massive part to Gaudreau exploding is he had Tkachuk on the board battles. Pucks would pop out to Johnny, rather than Johnny going into the boards himself. Especially on defense. If we run a top 6 of Johnny/Jack/Cat/Bratt/Nico/X, who of those are consistently winning those battles?

I’d be VERY surprised if Fitz trades for DeBrincat. Hell of a plyer, but Fitz’s been saying up and down how he wants to get tougher to play against.

I know a guy in Edmonton we can get for cheap.

Lol, you don't ignore a 40-45 goal scorer because you want to play more physical. If Fitz legit thinks that, we have more problems with this team/management.

There is zero guarantee signs. We can easily end up with no major addition for next season of we simply wait on Johnny

Fine. I have no issue taking that risk and ending up with that outcome. I have no interest in giving up 2OA+Holtz or a 2023 1st for this major addition when you could take the risk and maybe get something else for free. If you strike out on Johnny then shift focus elsewhere if you want. Go look at Tkachuk then and move whoever is picked at 2OA+ if we're so desperate for a major addition.

If you think you can get Slaf, who’s a monster, and you believe he can be a 30-35 goal scorer, I’m sure he’d think about it.

Yes , but I think one more top 6 addition regardless of size or tough to play against doesn’t matter maybe ? In a perfect world I’d like to have o e stud winger on Hughes and Nicos wing , and one guy to do the dirty work . Hmm some kid that is big , young , kmown for his size, strength , reach, ability to protect the puck , win board battles , go to the front of the net ….if only we could find someone like that in the draft somehow.

nah.

Just me.
Can’t kill him more than once .
