I actually wouldn't be surprised if he was top 3 on the Sens draft board with Slafkovsky and Wright. I think they will be that high on him.

I can honestly say I wouldn't be surprised if they had him ranked over Cooley.

I've said it before - teams will manage to talk themselves into thinking he's the next PLD.

I just think he checks so many boxes the Ottawa Senators have been looking for, I don't even know about the PLD comparison, I just think he is the exact kind of player the Sens absolutely fall in love with and covet

What would you add to 7oa to move to 2 and be Slafkovsky?

A lot

The case could be made for taking Nemec or Jiricek as well - if we knew we could land a top end UFA like Giroux up front.
Though having Slaf up there with Stutzle would be awesome.

Apparantely NJ have call often last year for Gus . So 7 + C.Brown + Gus

I would much rather this than my offer.

That means we only need one of those teams to go off the board to draft him, of course, I have the exact same hope that Jiricek RD falls to us too. Either would be great.

He seems like the most likely bet of the consensus top 5 guys to fall given his injury.

If Gauthier goes top 6 and Korchinski keeps rising, I could see Jiricek being available at 7.

I read today Lekkirimaki have grow in some team in the top 3. Top ten would be lot of surprise in the order this prospect to be pick

I'd like anyone out of that top 6 to be honest. Jiricek would be great though as I really like him and he fits an org need.

2 teams would have to go off the board. Can’t see any of the top 5 + Gauthier falling to 7.

Next year's draft is supposed to be crazy. I wouldn't want to end up losing a 6 or 7 pick.

Gord Wilson was talking about the 7th OA today & said he thought it made sense to have it in play because whoever they draft at 7th isn't going to help them next yr & they need help now. I disagree with that in that they could find someone at 7th overall who will certainly help the team down the road a few yrs & grab a couple of free agents who can help now. They have plenty of cap room & enough prospects to make some decent moves without selling the farm. And they have several prospects who will challenge for spots at training camp & be callups for next season. I'd keep the pick to assure they have a quality player for yrs to come.

If Jiricek/Nemec falls to them they will have the top 4 D they are trying to land now.
If Cutter falls to them they have a very good powerforward to play with Jimmy.
If neither falls they could add a skilled forward or a big centre with skill. They will have plenty of options & should still draft a quality player IMO which I would rather have than another rental.

Agreed … Dorion already said he thinks 7OA can help the team in 2023 so it would be really short sighted to give away that control for whatever short term benefit we get.

We are not winning the cup next year but we could lose it down the road with a bad trade.

No thanks - massive overpay.

Great news for Miroshnichenko - Whatever team feel comfortable enough to grab him has a hell of a player on their hands.

Team in question is going to have to do their due diligence on his medicals though. Doubt that team is the Senators.

The Sens should draft him.
