Honestly, when you look at the odds, it really isn't that big of a difference if you finish anywhere from 3rd-7th. Like Seattle has a 10.9% at 1st overall, and we currently have a 6.7% chance at 1st. That really isn't that big of a difference at all. I feel like in terms of the lottery, it really doesn't matter where you finish. If you're not bottom 2 in the league, then there's really not that much of an advantage between 3-7.

It’s not about the the chance of winning - it’s about protecting how far you fall. At 3-4 at worst you are falling within the top tier to 5-6. We could easy fall to 8-10 or even 12-13.

We lost to Kraken which was a surprise then Gus played great for us to get a W against Van which was also a surprise...beating CBJ and the Habs wasn't a stretch (and there is ZERO chance I would have wanted to lose to the HABS at home regardless).

Easy stretch to finish the season...not much you can do about it as they can't just sit Norris/Stu/Brady/Bath, etc...

We end up where we end up, might be frustrating to a degree but no use getting upset.

I have liked the progression I have seen in Ty Nelson this year. He’s small but if his height started with a 6 isstead of a 5, he would be a top 10 pick.
If we’re lucky he’ll be available in the second round.

We easily could have finished bottom-5 without blatantly tanking. Now unless we win the lottery the chances we draft a super stud at 7-8 are minimal. Best we can hope for is a decent forward who won't really arrive when we need it most.

Huge missed opportunity.

Who cares if we're top-5 or top-10 honestly. This draft is loaded in terms of equally decent prospects up to the 20th pick.
Shane Wright being the 1st says it all; he's similar to a guy like Nolan Patrick was.
I have no problem with the team taking a swing for a guy like Yurov, Lekkerimaki, Nazar or Korchinski if we do fall outside the top-5.
