This team looks lifeless. If Chabot is out for a few weeks things might get very very ugly. It’s looking more and more likely we’re drafting a phenomenal player this summer LFG.
It's already ugly. Lol.

Sanderson and Batherson are going to lower our pick in the last run of games. Maybe guilty of optimism, but I think Sanderson will have immediate impact.

Geekie at #2 is very strange, yes, if Cooley falls to us they should take him & Jiricek at #7 is right around where I expect the Sens to pick which is good. Y
Well, on one hand the team will get a boost with Batherson's return. On the other hand, its possible that Chabot will miss some time. And, Sanderson will get inserted into the lineup as well which is another factor.

And based on point percentage, NHL.com has us picking 4th overall (not including any lottery ball surprises).

Unfortunately, the only good thing that will come out of this season is another good pick.

Time will tell.

I love Geekie's game, has some real Mark Stone vibes to it. But he also makes Mark Stone look fast. Just not sure he has the speed necessary to translate but I absolutely love the way he plays the game.

Or do others disagree with me on that? I could be too harsh, and maybe he's got that Nick Paul quality of looking slower than he really is, I don't know. But he looks very slow to me.

Might be a broken hand for Chabot. Guess we're picking really high this year....

Hmmm - thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't be too surprised if we pick pretty close to where we are right now in the standings which would be 4th overall. Its a karma thing and it's been that kind of season.

I think I have settled on my draft order.

1st) Shane Wright - I think he is still the #1 pick, I know he hasnt been as good as other OHL players, but I think his year without hockey hurt. He is starting to get back in the flow. We can start him on the wing.

2nd) Juraj Slafkovsky - 6'4 goal scorer. Fits right along with Brady 6'4 and Drake 6'3

3rd) Simon Nemec - He could be the best D in this draft. And he is a right shot. Chabot/Nemec Sanderson/Zub

After that I will just trust in the team.

I did write that before Chabot's injury so who knows now, but 4th to 7th isn't that big a stretch.

Ya, who knows. At this point, additional wins and moving up a few slots in the standings is meaningless. Let's just get one or two (or more) good prospects out of this draft and salvage what we can out of a disappointing season.

Injuries have played a big part in how this season has gone from in net to losing our three top centres. They still have a number of question marks such as Murray, Zaitsev & White moving into next yr & how many prospect are ready to make the jump. We're also not sure if they are going to dip into free agency again this yr since it's back fired the last two yrs & I'm sure they took a lot of flack for the last draft. All in all the last 2 season could go down as two of the worst in Sens history although they have had a number of crappy seasons. Hopefully, the future has much better results to offer if they can stay healthy, they do have a number of very promising young players so all we can do is hope for the best.

What was the reaction around these parts when they went on their run last year? I remember watching the games thinking about all the players that were slowly slipping away.

I’m sick of picking high Honeslty. Last year was the same. It was nice to see brannstrom flourish the way he did though. But then predictably he was in the AHL to start this year.

If Montreal and Arizona continue on their pace; we should be looking at a bottom-3 finish just above Seattle and Philly.
Guarantees us a pick of Slaf/Cooley/Nemec/Savoie

Ok so the question would be : Who are the guys that we know already the Sens won't draft?

We know they didn't like Sillinger, Coronato, Lucius, Lysell, etc last year. Who will we pass on this year?

Savoie, Cooley and Nazar for sure?

Unfortunately, the only good thing that will come out of this season is another good pick.

You guys are not positive enough. It's also ONE LESS YEAR of Melnyk, Dorion and DJ Smith.

Considering we have to stop being a lottery team ASAP, it was a breath of fresh air. What I appreciated is that we were finally playing at a NHL level defensively, particularly on the road where it was not even watchable the first 2 months

It was all false hope in the end though. Management/ownership haven't provided the young core any support once again so we're back to sucking. I don't think they understand that there is 31 other teams (except maybe a few) that are very hungry about winning and will spend every f***ing dime possible.

When that dude is ready Chabot will have like 2 more years left on his deal lol

That dude could be ready next year playing in a sheltered role. Wright, Slafkosky, Kemel, Nemec, and Jiricek (to a slightly lesser extent) i think all have deceny to good chances of turning pro next year. 4/5 of those players have spent some time in mens leagues in the last 12 months. Whether you agree on how beneficial it would be for their development I think is a fair discussion though.

Top 3 pick? They probably step in next year or the year after. I do believe we need to get a top 4 D and top 6 forward still

Geekie is being undersold. The Sens need a player who can control and distribute the puck, who can consistently make smart plays and make the difficult plays look effortless. Without Batherson's passing skills, this team has taken a big step offensively since his injury. We need another playmaker that can make silky plays to our get goal scorers more solid looks. Brady needs more tap ins and Stutlze needs more setups in a high danger areas.

If it is not Wright, who is a playmaker first despite that release, I go with the Geek.
