It looks like a distinctive top 8 in this class then it falls off. Hopefully we land somewhere in that zone.

I always find it amusing when people say things like this and then trying to guess which players they mean. I am guessing Wright, Slafkovsky, Yurov, Miro, Cooley, Jiricek, Nemec, Savoie?

Personally I have Nazar over Savoie currently, but it's pretty much a coin flip for me. I also suspect a lot of people would want to include Kemell in that group, although I wouldn't myself. And Lekkerimaki has got to be pushing pretty close to that group as well.

If you go back to the last number of drafts their has clearly been a group of players that separated themselves at the top. Now not all have worked out but for the most part you can easily see a selecr group that is better than the rest

Lekkerimäki is an acceptable plan B. RW goal scoring. Might complement Stutzle that said to complete that line Bel Belluz if available is a great option could be the defensive lynchpin.

Bell Belluz-Stutzle- Lekkerimäki

Would make for an intriguing second line.

Lol, I wish I could go back to a time when the world was so simple, straight-forward and uncomplicated. I envy you my man.

Any player with skill ozzing from them. No more Boucher’s, Rogers, Tkachuk’s we have plenty of those.

If there was another Brady Tkachuk in this draft, with all the same positive traits and the same projected upside, you draft him in a heartbeat.

I think Brady is overrated. Can’t facilitate offence on his own, and unless he’s 3 feet in front of the goalie, he can’t score.
Brady is a passenger, and that’s fine, you need players like that to win. But Ottawa already has guys like him coming through the pipeline.
I think Ottawa needs another guy like Stutzle in this draft, a guy that can easily gain entry into the offensive zone without relying on the dump and chase. I know it’s easier said than done to get players like this but it sure as hell beats Tyler Boucher’s.

It looks like we have vastly different perspectives. I disagree pretty strongly with that assessment of Tkachuk.

Do you think he stays at center or gets used as a winger as a pro?

Forgive me if your question was specifically directed to SOA, but I will chime in with my opinion. Despite the size I absolutely believe Cooley is a center in the NHL. His hockey IQ, creativity, 200-foot game are all top-class. It's not terribly common to see sub 6' centers now days, but there are a few pretty good ones.

Cooley is very good and looked solid in the short WJC. He will go early for sure esp since he can play C
