I wanted Shane Wright... but right now... i'm on Logan Cooley team. This guy have potential to be the best player of this draft in 4-5 years, no doubt about that. I really like his game, he play like Zegras... that will be fun to watch him with Caufield on PP.
Next it's @le_sean... then @Rob Sense .. and last but not least @Estimated_Prophet will turn.

I get all the hype, but when I watch Wright I am literally bored.

Cooley’s speed and how he can be so deceptive, combined with his playmaking and vision makes him in my opinion tied, and probably even better than Wright. Although Wright is that good defensive 200 foot center teams are looking for, I don’t have a single doubt in my mind Cooley puts up more points in the NHL than Wright and potentially becomes the better player.

Wright doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but he’s been point producing machine at all levels. When I want to be entertained I just put my Rob Schremp highlights compilation on a loop.

This is why I still hold out a glimmer of hope that Cooley is the pick. When Hughes was hired he said that ‘in a perfect world we’d be an offensive minded hockey club’. I see Cooley fitting this vision more so than Wright. That being said is if they ultimately feel that Wright is BPA they should take him amd we’ll just have to wait for our offensive flair.

I’ve heard a lot of people excited about the possibility of Suzuki/Wright being our version of the Bruins Krejci/Bergeron duo and while there’s no arguing their effectiveness they were a défense first team. If this is the direction we end up going I’ll be here cheering them on but what I wouldn’t give to have some elite offensive talent on the team - who knows - perhaps Caufiled will develop into an elite sniper…

«S'il est repêché par les Canadiens, je vais être surpris, a indiqué Renaud Lavoie à La Dose. Ce gars-là n'a pas répondu aux attentes.

«Si les Canadiens repêchent Shane Wright, je serai content pour le kid, mais je serais très surpris. Je pense que je tomberais en bas de ma chaise.»

If the team stays focused on a defense first kind of team we won't see the best of Caufield. He already good obviously but he needs the kind of center Cooley is to score more often 5 vs 5.

Unless I missed something he doesn’t claim he has sources. It just sounds like a strongly worded gut feeling. Maybe a more informed opinion than someone else because he’s a beat writer, but still an opinion. Getting any sourced info on this topic from the Habs has been like getting blood out of a stone.

Bergeron/Krejci was not leading a defensive team - it's just a 2-way team vs. a purely offensive team. It depends if we have wingers that are playing offensively then. Caufield is one. We need 3 more. At least another 35g winger for the 2nd center.

And let's be clear, Suzuki is Bergeron, Wright would be Krejci.

Lol no my phone just autocorrects my own f***ing name to Dale. How does that even happen.

My phone autocorrects my name to hotdog, I know the feeling.

You have to read between the lines, for someone like Lavoie (who has a lot of sources, especially within the organization), to say "he'd fall out of his chair" is too extreme of a statement to make. He's basically implying that we most likely won't pick him but he obviously can't quote his sources within the organization.

Roy will be the other scoring winger for Wright, IMO.
