Gut punch with the Jets news today, I still have faith in the defense but they're going to be tested heavily now with an even more inept offense most likely with no Breece + best OL out for the year. Would still love an RB trade, would ask Cleveland about Kareem Hunt but not sure if he's a culture fit. Then again, this team tried going after Tyreek Hill too so who knows.

This just shows you how important buy in and effort and good coaching really are.
And also knowing the hip lingo. Would have never guessed sneakers.

Also, maybe Gettleman didn’t put together such a shit roster after all. It’s still mediocre and obviously lots of new faces this year but my god how could we have properly judged it with JUDGE as coach? Pun intended. He was an absolute joke.

In the NFL guys decide fairly quickly if the staff gives them a chance to win or not. If the players don't buy in you get a lot of guys just wanting to avoid injury in a losing season. One of the marks of good coaches like Bellichik or Sean Payton is they can keep lesser teams from bottoming out. I think I'm playing QB for the Pats and they are still 3-3 with a positive points differential. That's impressive given the circumstances. Payton had the Saints at 8-9 last season while playing Andrew Hammond, John Gillies, and Nico Daws at QB. With Winston at QB they were 5-2. Good coaches don't lose the team and can usually get the players to play hard all season which results in more wins as the bad teams fall back. If the injuries don't mount up the Giants won't win the SB but I think they can win a playoff game which will be a nice accomplishment after a number of down years.

Wasn't my first choice with how's he looked post Achillies but part of that was the Jags usage with him and Etienne. But I'll take it.

I never venture in here, for obvious reasons, but this Patriots team is no good. I mean, they should beat Chicago at home but they are not good at all.

Zero talent
Part of me thinks Bellichick wants it that way so he gets credit for any success they might have. I think he's also crusty enough at this point that players making more than him pisses him off.

That’s the way he tends to operate. He thinks he can coach up C-Level players to be A-Level talent.

When you have all-time players like Brady there to lift the entire team, that can work.

That’s the discouraging part of the bad season that they are going to have. They could end up with a top 5 pick, but he would trade it for 3 4ths and a 6th where he’ll draft special teamers who he thinks he can coach up to All-Pros.

Look at the offense they are rolling out there. Scared of anyone? I don‘t think so.

TB and NO got lucky in that both had Hall of Fame QBs that were team first guys (at least with their contracts) and both had that ability to make average players good players. Bill decided he was good enough to overcome losing that star (he's not - nobody is) and Payton decided that he didn't want to preside over a team in decline (smart move).

Bill also wants to hang around long enough to break the Shula wins record (just needs another couple years for that).

The Jets basically run the old school Broncos scheme where you can plug in just about anyone to run the ball effectively. The problem is Wilson isn’t even good enough to keep the other defense honest and not just key on the run.

They basically Wilson to be Jimmy G and he isn’t even that.

I'm not very high on him. Ultimately they're going to have to go out and get a legit QB next year. Like with Sanchez 2009-2012, he will hold this team back and force them to work around him.

I couldn't care less about football or Tom Brady, but a guy I watch on youtube has constantly used their marriage/relationship as the benchmark for the perfect relationship. She's his biggest fan, she's his biggest cheerleader. They're both high achievers. That's the one celebrity relationship he constantly cites and now it's over. Doesn't mean they won't get back together again, but that's definitely ironic that what was one of the best love stories and relationships in the world just as of 6 months ago is now apparently over.

I swear he said something like implying they were gonna stand the test of time and be together probably forever. This was before any rumors of them being on the outs. Maybe I'm misremembering that, but I swear he's constantly said that.

Something is wrong with Brady. Maybe both of them. He left his family for this one last hurrah. He doesn’t need the money the fame or another title. Even if his marriage was already over in July he owed it to his kids to be with them rather than Leonard Fournette. I’m sure Gisele is no picnic herself but maybe some marriage counseling would have been in order.

It be came evident to me that he was going to continue until he ruined his reputation when he didn't retire after the SB win with the Bucs. I get wanting to prove you can do it with another team or something like that, but he had the perfect opportunity to pull a Peyton Manning and didn't. He wasn't gaining anything else at that point. You're already the undisputed best ever and have more money than you'll ever need. Go figure out a way to enjoy your life with your family.
