LOL the Mets cheap out on the bullpen again...the Diaz contract negotiations this offseason might make the Bratt ones seem like a day at the beach. And don't sell me on Givens being a high-leverage reliever, he's a 7th inning guy at best. They don't have a single lefty worth a damn in the pen either.

They did ok, but yeah they really needed to get a lefty bullpen arm and came up empty.

Yup, agreed unfortunately🤦🏻
Bader is gonna be a fan favorite though. Hell be a really good 8 or 9 hole hitter, maybe steal some bases, and play the best CF you'll see anywhere in the league. I think with rehab he will at least be ready for the last couple weeks of the regular season and the playoffs. He's the type who could be a difference maker over the course of a couple playoff series. Definitely better than LoCastro, and I'd play him in place of Hicks in CF. Look at his 21 numbers. Dude is a legit starter.

This is the call I'll remember Scully for most of all. Of course, if this were in today's ultra sensitive world, he'd be called out and forced to relinquish his broadcasting job.

I was fortunate to grow up with Vin Scully calling games. On an unrelated note, the Naked Gun writers wanted Scully for the baseball scene but apparently the Dodgers PR put the kibosh on that (and with them using the Dodgers in the scene). Scully said he didn't remember being approached but that he totally would have done it.

4 months of good baseball and they act like they run NY.
Don't worry, Atlanta 8 more times, Philly 3, the Yankees and LA twice each this month. There's a fair enough chance you'll get your chance to throw the shade right back.

But with the way deGrom looked in his limited start and how Max has been pitching I don't have the standard August low expectations.

The only thing I’ll concede is that Diaz’s walk out song is a 10/10.

Meanwhile it would be pretty dope if LA somehow finds themselves in a slump.

They're white hot and just piling up wins like nobody else in the league.

Soft schedule in July for sure, but it's still scary good ball they've been playing. Especially after stepping on the Giants like they're a AAA team.

We'll see what the new look Padres have to offer in the way of resistance.

I'm not sure NY fans are as bad as Philly fans though...there's a reason they need a jail on-site at the Vet.
Clicked on the thread and it took me to this post for some reason.

Shea 100% had a jail, and I'm not positive but believe Giants Stadium did as well. I know the rock doesn't, but have no knowledge about any of the others.

I think the issue with the Vet was, or at least what I was always told, is that they had a judge on site.

Should've retired the judge and just built an action park style tube that shot them straight in to the Delaware.

The PHI fans will always be remembered as the uplifting humanitarians that booed Santa Claus in a parade. One of their esteemed followers of the Eagles once brought up drops by Nelson Agholor when being interviewed about an apartment fire that endangered the lives of small children. Fans of other NFL teams have a lot to live up to in order top PHI.

Just imagine how they acted in the 90's with no cameras around and the team being in a perpetual state of mediocrity.

I like how he cared enough about his scarf to try to not get it in the shit. I always appreciate a man who puts time and effort in to his wardrobe.

Edit: since this is a baseball thread let me try to get us back on track.

The parade fight is a nice one I hadn't seen before. For all the shit I talk I'm pretty sure I could go to a Yankees parade with my Mets hat on and not get hit.
