Cooley with a really heady play to steal the puck and set up the third USA goal tonight.

Ironically the Swedes played pretty soft despite being so worked up. Score was flattering to the swedes. He needs to grow up, calling the Swedes soft and insinuating that they do not not like body contact is similar to DeAngelo behavior. He will pay the price if he ever makes the Coyotes, hockey players never forget.

Whatchu guys talking about? He needs to grow up, calling the Swedes soft and insinuating that they do not not like body contact is similar to DeAngelo behavior. He will pay the price if he ever makes the Coyotes, hockey players never forget.
Cooley said some stuff about the swedes prior to the game that may have been used as bulletin board material. The swedes sure showed him though by getting dominated for the first 58 minutes.Whatchu guys talking about?
Are these quotes available anywhere?Cooley said some stuff about the swedes prior to the game that may have been used as bulletin board material. The swedes sure showed him though by getting dominated for the first 58 minutes.

I can't find the TSN clip, but this is supposedly what he said. Doesn't seem so bad.
It was on a TSN feed I watched instead of the horrible play by play on NHL network. He got blasted by Button. He repeated it twice in his interview. Are these quotes available anywhere?

As a swede I don't see how that's a very "spicy" quote. Nothing about it is wrong either, there isn't many physical players in this years team Sweden. This year like the last is also surprisingly weak.
I think you are thinking of Dave Starman who is announcing the games with EJ Hradek. He mentioned what SpiCooley said about the Swedes not wanting to play in the dirty areas of the ice (paraphrasing), and followed it up by saying you better show that you do.Apparently Craig Button really took it to him for that quote. And Cooley responded by having a pretty good game against the Swedes. It's funny that we have to go digging for details on stuff like this when if our team was more high profile this would be littered all over HF's prospect and WJ sections haha
.usually reserved for blowout games.
He’s scored in a game using it i believe. He missed this last time. I wouldn’t say to a goal scorer don’t shoot unless you score.Which, if true, is sort of poor sportsmanship. "We're crushing you, and now I'm going to make you look foolish."
I think the Michigan is a legitimate move...similar to a wrap-around. That said, if you haven't proven you can do it in practice then don't even try in a game
Guenther has also scored using it.Its very coyotes though that we finally get a guy who CAN do the michigan...and he misses twice
Button is a bit of a rant guy. It's his shtick. He will have a new one in the next day or so, just entertainment.Apparently Craig Button really took it to him for that quote. And Cooley responded by having a pretty good game against the Swedes. It's funny that we have to go digging for details on stuff like this when if our team was more high profile this would be littered all over HF's prospect and WJ sections haha
No Button said it during TSN during intermission.I think you are thinking of Dave Starman who is announcing the games with EJ Hradek. He mentioned what SpiCooley said about the Swedes not wanting to play in the dirty areas of the ice (paraphrasing), and followed it up by saying you better show that you do.
I think EJ mentioned that Zegras had made a similar comment in the prior tournament and then backed it up.
Starman also said after the failed Michigan that you'd better get it right if you are going to attempt it. There was also a comment indicating surprise at attempting the Michigan with only a 2-0 lead....usually reserved for blowout games.
I didn't have any issues with what was said. I don't agree with it all, but hey they're human and have different perspectives impacting their judgment.
Button is an ass. He isn't alone up in Canada either.Apparently Craig Button really took it to him for that quote. And Cooley responded by having a pretty good game against the Swedes. It's funny that we have to go digging for details on stuff like this when if our team was more high profile this would be littered all over HF's prospect and WJ sections haha
Proceeded to shit the bed. Ccoley had 2 points.Ake Stakkeatad on Cooley:
“Åke Stakkestad snorts when he hears about the American star's opinion of the Swedish team.
- That's silly to say. He is the most cowardly on the ice and avoids all tackles. Hopefully I'll get to slap him later in the tournament, says Stakkestad.
So you're happy to face the USA and Cooley later in the tournament?
- Yes indeed.”
