Brabenec looked good. Kulich looks like a player to me. I do think the D was good. Malek with 2 bad goals but some good saves.

Obviously I don't think we're winning gold but I do think we looked okay up until Jiricek got hurt.

No idea how it wasn't 5 and a game for the one guy but that didn't affect the outcome.

I'd like to see more from Mysak personally.. I'm a big fan and it's not criticism but he needs to carry more offence and he very may will tomorrow!

How good is Krutil? Can he somewhat make up for Jiricek if we lose him? Agreed about Mysak. Not doing enough. Thought Malat was noticeable.
 
If Jiricek can recover let him come back in the QF. That's the game that matters. Or one game before (vs Austria).

I really have no idea why this has to happen to us all the time. We have a couple of players who are level and every time exactly these players fall out of our lineup in the first match. Shit, this isn't really normal anymore:thumbd:

All I cared about was no injuries.lol I was fine with a loss.
 
So I’m watching the replay of the game now. It’s insane how much of a difference Jiricek makes. It’s so sad.
Also, Moravec was really good. I hope he moves up the line -up now. Hradek and Sedivy are defensive liabilities. Tichacek was pretty good too.

Urban was great. Fast and good stickhandling ability. Think he needs to move up the line.
Novak is a huge defensive liability. Man is he ever bad in his own end. Thought he was pretty invisible going forward as well. Gotta see more from him and Mysak too.

2020 - Lauko (1st shift), Jenik (freak injury, lost the rest of the season)
2021 - Pytlik (1st game)
2021 (U18) - Hamara (2nd game), Jiricek (just prior to the QF)
2022 - Jiricek (1st game)

Ridiculous if you ask me. Neither Pytlik nor Hamara were truly the "key" player on the respective squads I guess, but both would have gotten significant roles. It's never some 4th line plug that gets the freak injury.

MacT smoked him on the first goal.lol

I think Mysak is a classic Czech grinder in the mold of Repik to Plekanec. He does everything right, is a good boy and plays 200 feet. I don't expect much offence for him. More complimentary IMO and good at eating minutes. I hope I'm wrong of course but 3rd line NHL player one day.

It's very bizarre. I guess resistance to injury is something our key players lack?
