I've been calling it Czechia for quite some time now. Surprisingly it is mostly Czechs that are defensive against being called that from my experience.

R.I.P Czech Republic.
The jerseys will have the lion again istead of the classic coat of arms? Yeah, it's bad. Always was a fan of those classic coat of arms jerseys. If we can get English speakers to call it Czechia then we can get them to call it Cesko.
This and those awful looking jerseys... grrrr
The Olympic jersey is the nice one because of some licencing. The jerseys will have the lion again istead of the classic coat of arms? Yeah, it's bad. Always was a fan of those classic coat of arms jerseys.
And the verbal wars I find just unnecessary.
Are they still going to have this goal song though?
I totally agree! I think the offence initially looks pretty underwhelming but you’re right. Could be a very well balanced group. And they’re all playing really good hockey right now.I am really excited about this tournament WJC as there probably will be no real Olympic tournament. Was skeptical about the WJC taking place as well, but now I am starting to believe it is actually happening.
When it comes to the Czech team, the D looks solid, perhaps the best D in several years. The forward lines look rather unpredictable to me, defitinitely there is no future superstar, at the same time, the entire F group may be quite balanced. I am really cheering up for the guys to get past the QF this time but it is going to be a difficult task.

Fingers crossed
I noticed that, too, probably just an omission, no one said he was okay.I just noticed the extended Czech roster at Eliteprospects doesn't include Jakub Konečný (Sparta Prague), who is also with the team and is expected to make the final roster. Does anybody know why is that so?
I don't blame you and Alberta is a real shitshow for Covid in CanadaI am starting to worry the entire tournament is going to be cancelled due to COVID.

BUT
They are doing the buble thing that worked perfect for the U20, Hlinka and Women's tourneys. They don't have to reinvent the wheel to make this work.
I am more worried that the covid test is Jiricek, Svozil, Mysak, Gut, Kulich or Novak.
As always... we don't have much depth and 1 injury hurts us a lot!
Absolutely... but we are Czech. You know how this goes.lolIt may also be somebody from the Swiss team, and the test may be false positive. Let's wait.
They mentioned on the Finnish - USA broadcast that the bubble really isn’t a bubble. They are in a hotel that has other people non WJC related and can see them in the hallways, elevators, etc. could be from thatNews: According to the Czech team, the game was cancelled due of "a breaking of the COVID protocol". It is uncertain whether a Czech or Swiss player was tested positive of whether somebody "just" broke the strict bubble rules.
