Oh, I was trying to figure out what that meant. :laugh:

I would have said goose eggs. Of course a zero looks like an egg which is why getting no points in a tennis game is called "love", which is a fudging of the french word "l'oeuf" which means "the egg".

The scoring always confused me...15 30 40?? Not 45?! Supposedly it was based on the scores on a clock but somehow 45 got dropped to 40.

That one I got right away... Big tennis fan! No idea why Czechs call it a canary though.lol. The other one is if you hit the net and it trickles over they call it a 'pig'.lol

Weird scoring but our Czech ladies are insanely good.. they are what I wish our hockey was... They have aging stars, current stars and future stars all lined up. The boys might be making a comeback soon too.

Yeah, that’s a good question. I even remember a tennis commentator explaining the origin of the scoring and as I recall, even he was at a loss how we ended up with 40.

Brabenec 2+1 last night.
Getting much better as the season goes on. Perfect timing for us. And this is the case for many others this year.
Ivan Ivan has been lights out lately as well. Mysak Novak Gut doing great too.
This is great news for us. Like I said before. Good form is so important. Looks like most of the guys are heading into the tournament in a good place

Agreed... Svozil on a 3 game point streak too. I thought he would've done better but he seems to be coming along. Kulich and Jiricek doing well in ELH.

9 pts in his first 13 games (Oct)
10 pts in 9 games (Nov)
13 pts in 6 games (Dec)

I think he's getting quite comfortable.

Szturc is also solid. His points don’t reflect his actual level of play. I’ve seen him in 4 games and he’s been real solid. Could be a nice secondary scorer next season. However, I think he should’ve absolutely been there this season. I don’t understand how chemlar is there. Watching a few games of jokerit for Strbak and I have no idea how he got into nomination. Szturc should be there over him. Does the coach really love Chmelar? I have no explanation otherwise, it’s like the Slovaks putting Stumpel in the squad. Just very strange

You can't mean Josej Stumpel? I liked him!

Czech coaches (and most in general) always find a guy that is not as skilled but will skate through a wall for them. I'm guessing that is the case here.

They are getting tested and flying over very soon.. then 3 cuts. Finns lost a very good player (Raty) because of Covid and he couldn't even fly over. So, fingers crossed, we pass all our tests. Then, fingers crossed, our coaches don't cut a good player in favor of a hard worker.

We can treat the Canada game as exhibition. Hopefully do better than Denmark on boxing day a few years ago...
