Just please, for the love of god, don't acquire no more goalies.
Both Pittsburgh and Carolina have three mil plus goalies. I wouldn’t be surprised if we had to take one. I just hope there’s a way out of us potentially having three goalies as part of the fallout.

Yeah, there should be a kinship here, though I think the tough part is Sharks fans still getting over not liking the Canucks' good teams that overlapped with ours.

But there is the similarity of having a good team for an extended period, making the Cup final, not winning one, but having lots of enjoyable star players along the way. And Vancouver is one of the eight teams with longer Stanley Cup droughts, so hey, at least we have that!
Glad we help y'all sleep at night o_O:baghead:

Im starting to not like this team, if he truly adds two more NHL players hes going to be drafting in that 9-15 range which is pointless.

They really need to trade karl quickly to not over inflate the wins. then be sure to burn it down with plenty of time left to sink back into the top 5.

Sammmmeee butttt, If they sign 2 more players and flip 1 of em at the deadline. SJ would get more 1sts at least. Pick 4th or pick 8th and 20th? Guess it comes down to something like that

I don't think we need to worry about that.

Karlsson probably isn't as good next year, even if he's here and healthy (and he's always a health risk). Couture and Hertl are only getting older.

The blue line is a disaster. The goaltending is a disaster. We will allow tons of goals.

The forward group remains weak. We lost Meier, and Eklund isn't going to replace him immediately (hopefully he does in a year or two). The bottom six is mediocre. The top six contains a prospect, an oft-injured winger, and a disappointing young winger, along with one legitimate NHL top six winger.

We were terrible last year, and this year we will likely be worse. We're not adding sufficient depth to actually fix this issue - even with, say, Tarasenko (Dumba/Myers will only take Karlsson minutes and use them much less effectively).

We should expect to finish last this year. I'd be shocked if we finished ahead of more than one team.

I think you’re seriously underestimating how awful the defense and goaltending are going to be, with or without Karlsson.

I am not too worried about the team adding good players if they are being acquired at cheap prices for the short term. Given the state of the defense group and the goaltending I can't envision the team being anywhere near the playoffs. I don't think there is ever a bad time to make a good move. If Dumba and Tarasenko are too good for the rebuild we can trade them for futures.

It truly would be Shorks hockey if Hatakka ends up being the best player in the trade
I remember liking what I say from Hatakka but he couldn't stay healthy. Hopefully he can stay healthy and have a good career.

Sharks won 22 games last year with a 100 point norris D man and Timo haha. Dont think theyll have much trouble losing games

You really think adding Duclair and Zadina is going to change us from bottom 5 to drafting 9-12?

Take it for what it is worth but there is an Athletics article that argued with some evidence that the Sharks should have finished higher in the standings. If the premise is correct they may regress to the mean and improve.

Without Karlsson and Meier? I agree that their goaltending was so putrid that it put them lower than they should’ve been, but subtracting a 100 point D man and 40 goal scorer is going to crater those underlying numbers while still having poor goaltending.

Agree with the POV of that Athletic article which is why I'm not TOO upset with 4th overall, we were pretty lucky to get that low despite the fact we had an opening to get a top 2 pick. Also agree losing Meier and Karlsson will be enough to push us down from the Athletics projections at the time, but still don't know if I think this team is top 3 pick bad...I think we land in the bottom 6 or 7 leaning closer to 7 than 1
