Philly getting the offseason off to a raucous start. Funny that CBJ now have both Provorov and Werenski who were attached together as D prospects in the 2015 draft (and went back to back picks at 7 and 8 before Timo to SJ at 9).
That's shoe 1. Shoe 2 will be Hart and that's one to watch for sure.

Maybe some 3-way action again. Hart to Anaheim, Gibson to NJ, xxx to Philly?

That reminds me of the time many years ago a comedian (lesser known) was on Hollywood Squares and, when the question about that rhyming thingy started to say Chuck Chuck and the host stopped him instantly. LOLOL :biglaugh:
Evgeni is a good one, too. Not for the same reason, just because it doesn't work at all. Or it does, technically, but it's super awkward.

Matvei works nicely tho. Will does too, but it's kinda dull by comparison.

If Grier doesn't want Michkov, he should do a deal with PHI 7th + Hart for 4th + Kraapo or something along those lines. PHI needs D and Ferraro strikes me as a PHI/Torts player so maybe there's a fit there. Worst case scenario is another goalie bust, middle case is he still has value when he's UFA if he doesn't want to re-sign, best case is he plays like he's capable of, and I believe he'd be by far the best goalie the Sharks have targeted. Though I really do think Sharks might have a chance at Carlsson or even Fantilli, so it would be best to wait if picks are involved.

No if Grier doesn't want Michkov he should just take Smith. After 5 there's a drop off in talent. We have the luxury of being pick 4. so Montreal can be the ones to worry about wanting/not wanting Michkov.

fun must be always.

these "thoughts" keep implying the Sharks are going to try and get better and fill needs. I dont think they are nor should they even attempt to be better next year. They need at least one more year of a top 5ish pick and they need to stock up again.

The Sharks need a franchise player. Doesn’t look like their likely to get one this year, so next year is the best time.

If we get an actual good goalie this off-season I’ll be legitimately upset.

I hope not, no point in paying for goaltending now
Think Murray more likely than Hart. Think SJ may be involved in the Hart deal given the rumblings that TOR might be in on him and need to send Murray's money out the door (Philly took Petersen so they don't have a spot for it in theory).

SJ - Matt Murray + 28th Overall (TOR)
TOR - Carter Hart + 6th rounder (SJ)
PHI - 36th Overall (SJ) + 2024 3rd Rounder (TOR)

Toronto would basically get Hart for Murray, 1st, and 3rd which would be pretty fair deal I think given cap dump of Murray.

This sounds reasonable to me. To get that 28th is the key to me. Very valuable at the draft.
