Gregor 2.0 ?
Topping out as Gregor would be pretty underwhelming, but that's probably his realistic ceiling. Utterly pointless shot, no playmaking ability, can skate and play physically to an extent, carry the puck decently well, nothing special defensively.

Ozzy is less skilled than Gregor but dirtier/meaner. Teams often tried to fight him for one reason or another.

Yeah, I started watching Wiesblatt more for his ability to be an annoyance than for what he did on offense. He seemed to bother opponents more than anyone on the Cuda with the exception of Raska.

I think if anyone is just watching his point totals, they aren't getting the full picture on him. But best case scenario IMO, Ozzy becomes an agitator/energy guy on an NHL fourth line someday.

Its interesting to see that people are frustrated with wiesblatts offense, considering his WHL career his numbers for a forward were pretty weak, to the point that Vlasic numbers were just as good.

So basically Ryan Reaves or Nick Deslauriers but smaller

I've said this before but I think Grier should try to make similar to Thrun/Peterson like deal or two this summer. Not that I don't trust his draft/scouting but I think MG should try to get young players for cheap that don't fit other organizations depth. More ice time in San Jose would be great for young and potential players.
I mean there’s been as many misses as hits. Lane Peterson, Kunin (to an extent), Hill

I think the keyword of the successful pickups is young and potential players. I think Grier is in the right path, he is taking low cost risks that could possibly make a big leap towards better times.
I think the main thing is to be build an actual culture to this team next, I believe he can. We need a Boston, Vegas, Tampa Bay like culture that we will make players better when they play here. Draft big time players. Future is bright if MG can draft or acquire couple of stars and build a strong, confident team. There is always going to be a team like Vegas that will make you frustrated, build a team like them. Vegas sure knows how to make players better than they should be.

Svechnikov has completely exceeded all of my expectations for him. I feel confident in MG’s ability to make quality signings, especially when he has more cap space. I think Zetterlund, Kaut, Peterson and Thrun were all quality players that other clubs didnt see enough from but will over achieve for the Sharks at some point.

Nylander + pick + major prospect for EK and 2025 first. If the pick returned is a first, would you do it?
1) We have no need for Nylander. We’re rebuilding.
2) What “major prospect” do Toronto even have? I don’t think they have any prospects at all.
3) We’ll still be rebuilding in 2025. No way I trade that pick for 27 year old Nylander.

Nylander would be a perfect linemate for Eklund. Knies would the only top end prospect comes to mind.

We don't need to be pointlessly trying to speed up the rebuild by spending assets. We are going to suck for the next five years, Nylander or not - no point trading a lottery pick in 2025 for a guy who will be close to retirement by the time the Sharks are ready to compete again.
