I think he’s likely going to try Tanko and Makiniemi, but we’ll see.

And yeah, I also like his other quote about the prospect pool being “okay” (he’s so unimpressed) and I imagine he’s going to be working hard this summer trying to bring in more prospects/young guys that are ready-ish.

I kind of love this lineup:

Eklund/Guschin - Hertl - Petersen
Guschin/Eklund - Couture - Barabanov
Gregor - Sturm - Bordeleau
Lindblom - Lorentz - Zetterlund

Thrun - Karlsson
Ferraro - Knyzhov
Vlasic - Benning

…and Muhk gets games or takes a spot if he’s good enough.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a bottom 5 team, but I think it’s kind of a fun, young team to watch.
How dare you snub Kunin

Bordeleau a B-? For cheerleading and moral support?

Hertl higher than Cooch...Kaut a D.....but Bordeleau gets a B...... Nice to know that you still follow the team Doug JR 😂

Bordeleau is one of the worst ratings I've seen on here in a long time. He was awful in his call-up. Additionally, Couture has his 2nd best scoring season of his career both in total points and ES points per 60 and he's a D+. Guess he's spent his career being a F if that is only worth a D+.

Borderleau was noticibly good in the 8 games he played. Couture gets paid $7M AAV to be invisible more than half the time, but go off.

Letting Joe Will anywhere near hockey decisions is negligent. Him and Becher should be excised from the organization.
This is all speculation on my part butttt Becher ain't leaving as far as I'm concerned. I'm almost positive he's a handpicked Hasso guy from his time at SAP and simply exists to tell Hasso whatever he wants to hear. I never got the sense Hasso/Wilson were all that close and Hasso let Wilson sorta do whatever he wanted with minimal involvement. The timing of Becher being hired (2018) aligns well with some of the bone headed moves Wilson was making and the state of the the post-SCF.

The biggest indicator to me was his heavy involvement in the GM search despite little to no hockey or sports experience at the time. That was Hasso leaning on his American guy without having to directly be in the US or heavily involved in decisions.

The question is, does Becher just do Hasso's bidding, in which case he's irrelevant because he's doing what ownership wants, just with an extra layer. Or, does he do what Hasso asks but also whispers his shitty takes in Hasso's ear influencing the direction when he has no business doing so and screws us. My man should focus on fixing attendance not team performance

Bordeleau was noticeably invisible for his try-out this season. I'm alright with thinking Couture was kind of blah for a lot of the season though he remained productive. Hertl was bad this season and worse than Couture.

Bordeleau's last game was legit but the rest of the time he had some serious pace issues. I think he'll get there eventually and maybe carve out a Donskoi-esque career but it's gonna take some work.

I didn't get to see Bordeleau in his Sharks call-up, but even in the AHL there were stretches of games where you'd forget he's on the ice at all. Hoping another year under his belt and getting more used to the grind is going to help in that regard. But obviously there's still plenty else he's going to need to work on (i.e. defense).

Hopefully a big summer for him after his first stint of playing against grown men for a full season and also first time facing real adversity on the ice. Been on dominant teams seemingly his entire career prior to this. Should go 1 of 2 ways after dealing with being on a bad team (bust it and get better or mail it in).

I still don’t understand why they let Joe Will sign Hertl to an 8 year contract before hiring a GM when I see Grier say stuff like this. The Filip Chytil + a 1st trade that was being offered by Rangers fans last year would’ve looked pretty good right now.

It was a colossal mistake then and it looks even worse now. Everyone loves Hertl, but with his injuries and his age 8 years was a ridiculous contract.

Cannot get nostalgic with players and hand out massive deals that handcuff the franchise.

The whole point of cap space when you have a bad team is to get picks for buyouts.

Sharks need as many first round picks as possible to build up the prospect pool.
