Couple thoughts here but I don’t think you’re wrong with anything here:Farabee seems to be a slightly more skilled Donato, and I would think that would be an easy pass, at least from Grier. I really hope this offseason Grier doesn't focus on adding more depth players. I LOVE Jordan Spence though, and I think him or most of the players you suggested would be solid targets, but I think LA has high hopes for him and they wouldn't even think to trade him to SJ anyways. I think he's replacing Durzi. I'm a big fan of player swaps though (Merk-Kaut, Suomela-Barabanov). I would be totally down for a Bordeleau-Spence swap with all of the DFD-TWD the Sharks have added, so I hope Grier continues to go that route to add instead of pick trading or even FA signings. I hope they don't sign anyone this offseason even on D.
This was the real tank year, they'll be bad next year and the year after but next year should be all about really seeing what's in the organization already, even as weak as some places are, and trying not to commit to more Lindblom and Benning mistakes. Guys like Muk/Thrun if he signs should 100% not spend a single game in the AHL next year.
I don’t think Farabee is quite a slightly more skilled Donato (unless we are talking about Donato now). Farabee is a pretty good power forward type player. Second line ideally.
I think LA would definitely want to keep Spence and I don’t think they’d move him for Bordeleau (just based on positional need). I’d try to do something around one of our LHD although I’m not quite sure if there’s a deal there just because of difference of values.
I agree though. I hope we don’t sign more Bennings, Lindbloms, or even Sturms. If we are signing vets, I wouldn’t really go over a 1 year deal. I’d overpay a bit on money to get them to sign but only for one year.
