Honestly? Getting everything for this plus what’s looking like one of the big 4 in the draft. Combine that with Bord and Ek and maybe Robins, Coe, Laroque etc and I don’t hate the young nucleus nearly as much as I did coming into the year. This all had to happen but I imagine at some point well start seeing a more positive trajectory.

We can hopefully grab one with Nj pick in the draft or, maybe there’s a chance EK gets traded. Imagine getting a similar quantity haul? That would instantly transform our prospect pool from meh to borderline top 10.

I think EK65 to oilers is definitely possible before deadline. The west is very weak and it doesn't seem like they have many other reasonable targets to load up (?), this would be a great year for them to be aggressive.

It gets harder to "get paid" to take on bad contracts when you value grit and overpay for 4th liners to build a "winning culture"

None really rumored on the market. Greenway should be one, but I have a feeling they will get assets for him.

We were rumored to be in the Zaitsev deal. Not sure how many times it has to be stated or reported by outlets that we were interested in that.

We don't have the cap space for it without moving Karlsson, Labanc, or someone else out the door in the meantime. If Ottawa was willing to wait until more of our moves were made, we could have made that deal. There are no economics that work right now for that though rather than us just not being willing to do that deal.

We just turned Tanner freaking Jeannot to a draft class. To say Preds fans are giddy is an understatement. I'm looking at the smoke and wondering what eating 50% of Karlsson's contract would be worth to yall?

The dream next move would be EK65 at what is likely his peak value for a first and a top prospect for EK the player himself. Then another first plus for the massive amount of retention that is going to have to happen. Then take best picks possible for Reimer and Bonino.
Very much a fan of both Timo and EK65, but now is the time to finish yanking off the bandaid and getting this done.

Agreed. He was worth a 1st when he was drafted. He's playing 16 mins a night and got 10 mins of ice time last night. It is clear that Nashville is done with him so just a matter of what their asking price is. Unlike the TB trade last night, Fabbro doesn't have a cheap contract that would beef up the value. I'd say a 3rd or something as compensation or Labanc (though not sure why they'd want Labanc if they're selling off at the TDL).

You asked what it would take for us to retain 50% on the best D in the league by a wide margin this season. I said 10 1sts to show we wouldn’t do it unless we get MASSIVE overpayment.

I genuinely don’t understand your goal here. Fabbro is not Jeannot. Fabbro is not very good.
