Speculation: 2022-23 Sharks Roster Discussion Part II

Barabanov for a second
Zetterlund for a second
Riemer for a second
Bonino for a fourth
...
I can dream, right?
I’d keep Zetterlund. I don’t think Reimer returns more than a 3rd or 4th. I’d try to get something else for Barabanov, either a first or a prospect attached. I could see them exploring a trade with one of their D (not Karlsson or Benning).

With the first domino having dropped, it’s time to purge this roster for picks and rebuild this. Would love another first and another second in this years stacked draft. Entire roster should be made available to that end.

David Pagnottas piece today said teams like Barabanov but Grier doesnt want to move him.

Not expecting him to move but if he did, probably atleast a second+ would return.
His piece also talked about Holtz and then he tweeted that Holtz hadn’t been discussed an hour later lol.

Given Grier’s comments about Meier’s value only going down with fewer playoff runs after this season I have to imagine that he is thinking the same on Barabanov. Issue is going to be what is the cost. I know Barbashev hits so he’s worth more to some bozo GMs (and he has 1 anomaly season while mostly being a 3/4 tweeter otherwise), but he got a recent 1st round pick as a rental (value is probably a 2nd but Vegas didn’t have one). Barabanov with another year at a cheap number should be worth a late 1st or the Barbashev return plus a 2nd.

Is it fair to assume we are still one goalie heavy, and Reimer will go as insurance to a playoff team - 2nd or 3rd there?

Bonino goes to a playoff team to stabilize a third line - 2nd or 3rd there?

Would be stellar to pick up (2) 2nd’s right there and flip something else for another 1st - that’s the dream.

Bonino is a 3rd best case scenario. Reimer is maybe a 4th.

Barabanov is the only chip that is worth a 2nd or more right now aside from Karlsson.

I don't see there being much risk in Barabanov losing value if they kept him before the trade deadline of his final year on the contract.
Same rationale then for we should’ve kept Meier and QO’d him and traded him this summer or next TDL. 2 playoff runs are worth more than 1.

Neither will get that. Id expect fourth rounders max for those two.

Just a ton of options on the market and those guys arent good

I doubt that moves the needle for teams as it relates to Barabanov. I think he's going to be worth a 3rd round pick regardless. Don't think the Sharks need that 3rd round pick now.
