I thought I had heard that but more than likely I was mistaken and it was possibly DWjr
Sheng reported on it iirc
Okay, I believe you if you say so. I just feel like Mintyukov was the guy and that him getting picked at #10 is what made us trade down.

I will say that I do like Savoie, I watch a good amount of him since he plays with Benson. But I’d really be shooting for Quinn from the Sabres.

Today’s the day Timo gets traded, I can feel it. Sometime between this afternoon and March 3rd…so exciting!!
This brings me back to the broadcast on the day that Stuart, Sturm and Primeau had mysteriously scratched.
Later, during the intermission, Randy announced that they had been traded for Joe Thornton.
I’m afraid this time, we’ll be giving up the better player.

I’m more excited than afraid. Yes, we’re giving up the better player but it’s also nice that Grier is acknowledging we’re a bad team and we need to start building towards a better future. Hopefully this trade brings back some pieces that can be part of our next core.

"I haven’t gotten an exact handle on the other teams engaged with San Jose GM Mike Grier for Karlsson, but I was told the Sharks believe they have at least two options they’d feel comfortable executing if the All-Star signs off on a move. I’m led to believe each of those packages include first-round picks (plural)."
This would be so glorious. Some assets for the sharks, and a reason to watch the playoffs to root for EK65. Do it for the love of the game, GMMG

If Karl's decision is solely based on the potential of winning, then there aren't many better teams than Edmonton. Playing with McDrai would be a dream and on Edmonton's end it gives them a legit star #1D that would have to pull the load a lot less than he has over his career to this point (not that he wouldn't keep being elite, but getting production 5v5 wouldn't be as hard with McDrai).

Hello fans!

Finish this trade for me:

Meier to Boston + ____________?
Pastrnak to San Jose

Pastrnak signs to play with Hertl 8 years X 12 million.

Cheers!
2024 1st + Lorhei. Sharks turn around and deal Pastrnak as a rental to make up the rest of the value.

Basically nothing that would benefit the Bruins and there’s no way that Pastrnak would sign with the Sharks or that the Sharks would give him that contract. And Pastrnak is one of my favorite players in the league.

So you think offersheeting Timo Meier and giving up 4 1sts is a sign of good management? Guess we just fundamentally disagree.
I think adding a top line winger like Timo is almost always good management. If it’s like Vancouver or Arizona doing it probably not but if it’s like Vegas or Boston, hell yeah.

I’m still upset about us passing on him. One of my first round pick takes that was unequivocally right. Doesn’t always happen (see Veleno) but sometimes it works great (Pasta).
