Deal has to include Bouchard. Make the salary work around him.

What about Broberg instead of Bouchard. I don't think the oilers will give up Bouchard and Barrie if they want to win now. Broberg is more immediately replaceable

I think we would 100% offer up Bouchard before we move Broberg. Broberg has been much better for us and Bouchard is what we hope EK would do for us. IMO it’ll be Bouchard + 1st+2nd + JP + Foegele for EK retained.

(JP Foegele don’t really effect your rebuild and you get a potential 2D in Bouchard + 2 picks. I just don’t think SJ is willing to retain enough to make it work)

Interesting. I'll trust people who watch every game, but I was just thinking they would value that Bouchard's age and development is closer in line with McDavid and Draisaitl's. Short-term, win-now thinking

Broberg has been our best dman on most nights. Bouchard is further along in his development but he’s not standing out as much. I think Bouchard has more value so that plays a role in him being sent for EK too.

I think Grier wanted Kasper, Korchinski, or Mintyukov and that DWjr wanted Savoie just based on some interviews about types of players they like and goals for what they want the team to be. That was kind of my interpretation. Maybe move Mintyukov into the DWjr category.
