Walk around the tank when the game is in progress and there's a lot of people milling around drink stands/bar just shooting the shit. I figured for the most part they were there in corporate seatsSan Jose is pretty similar

There was probably 2 games where Merkley looked like offensively he was a future top 4 defenseman. Crazy fun passes, breakouts and offensive zone plays. Problem is the defense was pretty bad. He’s trying but I just don’t think he gets it yet. He’s running out of time to find out about it though. How did Merkley look like last season? His points look a little underwhelming but he is only 21 and has a lot of time to improve. Does it look like he can take the next step? I loved that pick when it was made and really hope he can figure things out.
Also, did Ferraro take a step back last season? Or is that just a result of how the team was as a whole?
He is only 21 though. I think if he can continue learning and shows improvement he could really break out by the time he hits 24. The team should be better by then too so that would also aid his development. There was probably 2 games where Merkley looked like offensively he was a future top 4 defenseman. Merkley is likely trade bait to new management given the types of players that have been brought in thus far but there's room for exceptions. I expect him to start with the Barracuda. He is only 21 though. I think if he can continue learning and shows improvement he could really break out by the time he hits 24. Yeah he even mentioned that as something he wanted to work on this summer. He just didn't have a great shot before at all, so we'll see what has changed. He fixed some of his issues from his first year with the Barracuda, but his unwillingness to shoot the puck is still a headscratcher for me.

I think part of it is how unpredictable Burns can be and if you're not playing anything but conservative defense then you're bound to fail. Like Ferraro was trying to add more aspects to his game but he can't trust Burns to cover for himAs for Ferraro, Burns sapped his IQ a little. You know how Burns does that to his partners. May have also struggled coming back from injury, may even have been playing through injury. I think he bounces back this year and takes the next step and adds offense while getting back to great defensively.
Probably more like 8 cities, but yeah, I agree with this.Pacioretty was captain of the Montreal Canadiens so has zero perspective for how hockey is covered and perceived in 95% of markets. Outside of 2-3 cities nobody in the US cares about the NHL enough to hold players accountable. It’s not just a Vegas thing.
90% confident DW communicated multiple times that him leaving was a possibility and everyone else was oblivious and in denial afInteresting reporting from The Athletic.
1) Doug Wilson leaving was a surprise
2) Mike Grier is stressing improving in drafting/developing in the early part of the draft; clearly, they recognize this is a problem.
The way the Sharks front office was/is setup kinda looks like it could lead to misinterpretations or miscommunications as the owner of the team lives in Potsdam Germany and the next highest guy up is just a senior adviser to the team and not an actual person that’s in charge of all hockey operations then goes to Grier and his assistant GM’s.90% confident DW communicated multiple times that him leaving was a possibility and everyone else was oblivious and in denial af
5'11"Why was Dahlén let go?
New management didnt like him. Wanted bigger physical presences for the bottom sixWhy was Dahlén let go?
Because he blows defensively, has questionable hockey IQ, lacks speed and physicality, and his effort is quite often MIA. Most of those issues make him a non-option for the bottom-6, and he lacks skill to be in the top-6.Why was Dahlén let go?
Yeah, I mean, I wanted to like Dahlen, I was a supporter of his for a good while, but as we got later into the season and he got healthier and farther out from his bout with Covid and the effort was still poor and he looked so lightweight and like a net negative player even if he could chip in occasionally offensively (but only if he was with some other top contributors), my feelings changed and I saw him as someone who was expendable. I think it's pretty clear that others felt this way as well, not just Grier, or else he'd have been able to trade him for something (or Dahlen would have found a new job by now), so I can't really hold that against him.Because he blows defensively, has questionable hockey IQ, lacks speed and physicality, and his effort is quite often MIA.
