Not like it matters much, so whatever. I don't think there'd be space for him on the blueline either wayHow would you guys feel if PK Subban signed for a year for like 1-2 million?
I don't see how we have the cap space and I'd rather give the playing time to players who might have a future than a has-been who, if we're very lucky, will net a mid-round draft pick at the deadline. How would you guys feel if PK Subban signed for a year for like 1-2 million?
NO! NO! HELL NO!How would you guys feel if PK Subban signed for a year for like 1-2 million?
I would not like it one bit considering Subban looks like such a husk of his former self. We signed Benning and Nutivaara, already have Knyzhov and Simek, and have young players, like Merkley, who deserve a shot. Another body just makes the logjam worse when the goal should be upgrading rather than adding. How would you guys feel if PK Subban signed for a year for like 1-2 million?
Like we would have 5 too many bottom pairing defensemen instead of just 4.How would you guys feel if PK Subban signed for a year for like 1-2 million?

GMMG: "Who said I was signing him to play as a defenseman? I see him being a real difference maker in net for us."Like we would have 5 too many bottom pairing defensemen instead of just 4.
Maybe the Warriors want to tank for their draft?#SJSharks are looking for a new Director of Strength and Conditioning -- Mike Potenza is joining the Warriors. Let's hope he doesn't bring Sharks's bad luck to our Warriors! And don't replace him, have everyone injured all year -- Tank Hard for Bedard!
I don't see the benefit of doing that. Hague isn't anything special. Maybe a Middleton at his best but he's not worth paying a 2nd round pick for when we have too many LD's now. What about offer sheet to Hague? 23 years old promising LD with good shot. Will not cost more then 2nd round pick. VGK have some problems with a cap. We can bite them.

Well that's something

None of those guys listed play the same side as Subban.I wouldn't mind. He'd still be an upgrade over Vlasic, Simek, Megna, and most of the other AHL tweener scrubs we have.
Anything more than 900k is an overpayment though.

NHL contract efficiency rankings: Grading every team in the league
Paywalled article on most efficient contracts in the league, sharks come in at 31st.
Only positive value deals are Meier, Sturm, Barabonov, Bonino and Knyzhov.
Bratt doesn't strike me as a GMMG player.I wonder if we could swap Meier for Bratt next year.
If both are looking like they will take the one year QO, then we could see if both would sign long term if they swap.
I don't think the league needs to ban it, but I'm not a big fan of trades with any conditions... Once the players pass the physicals, I think everything about the trade should be locked in, but that's just what would help me sleep at night as a GMLottery protected 1st's should be outlawed. There should be no, if this happens then this happens and we can choose a later 1st to give you.
If you are trading a 1st then take the risk, lottery protection is taking away that risk.
Sounds like terrible value for a player of Meiers caliber. Look at what Tkachuk just got.Bratt doesn't strike me as a GMMG player.
How about Timo for Severson, Wood and a lottery protected 2023 1st? We could either extend Severson as a Burns replacement or flip him for picks at the deadline. Wood fits the mold of guys like Kunin and Sturm.
Severson = Weegar, 1st round picks net, so the difference is a Coe caliber prospect (Schwindt) and a 100+ point producing Huberdeau compared to just Miles Wood (both of which are likely 1 year rentals with the option to maybe sign long-term). NJD would have to assuredly add in this scenario. They would have to include Holtz in any Meier package or else Grier should rightfully decline.Sounds like terrible value for a player of Meiers caliber. Look at what Tkachuk just got.
Yea they got vets which we won’t want, but those vets can be dealt at the deadline for huge value.
