Roy looked really out of shape. He started well, and really so did Durzi. They got seriously worn down as the game went on. We all know Durzi is high risk, high reward, but if he would just be aware who is out there on the other side he'd be far better off. You don't go for risky plays when the oppositions top lines are out there.

I'm just not sure he can rein that in, it's built into his game.
 
I'd like to see a Kurtis MacDermid - Brandt Clarke pairing next game but I don't think that'll happen.
 
D pairs have no chemistry. I feel like it’s because Todd had them In a f***ing blender all preseason. It will get better once they nail out the pairings.

-Roy needs to sit for Clarke that’s for damn sure.
-Durzi could be extremely effective if he has Suderi or Mitchell strapped to his leg. Hell even prime Norstrom would have a hard time covering that ass.
-Edler needs his minutes managed on 3rd pair with Clarke and feed the kid pp minutes instead of Drew.
-Walker was unnoticed which may be a good thing.
-We have a lot of good parts but I’m not sure if they fit together.

Durzi isnt wired mentally for D - he is all dynamism and creativity.. he doesnt have a conservative bone in his body apparently

Vilardi was really impressive, so may shifts where he took over the game, he had a presence tonight. Quick was awesome as well. Danault, Fiala and Roy had a rough game in my opinion. Byfield was alright, he struggled in the dzone and he was really passive, but I think Vilardi might be the perfect line mate for him to create opportunities.

Ya they all mosty looked like shit.. but part of it is, these pairs havent played together and we have a guy playing on his wrong side.. i dont like it
 
That sucked. Brutal defense all night.

Vilardi however looks like a new player. Very impressed and I hope he keeps it up.

Kaliyev gives Is a goal with limited minutes.

Byfield will start to take over. Has his moments. Can see the skill.

Okay Blake. Only game 1 but writing has to be on the wall for this Defence setup. Our only physical guy rode in with the dinosaurs. Our young offensive guy set up more goals for Vegas than his own team.

Love me some Quick. Guy has no quit

First time seeing Vilardi play today as I picked him in my fantasy pool. He looked absolutely beastly out there. If he can keep playing like that his minutes should steadily climb and he could be a real stud.

Hey guys, Canucks fan here just watched the entire game from the beginning to the end.

For the positives, I thought the vilardi looked extremely solid, I also felt that byfield looked pretty damn good also.

Obviously, Durzi struggled tonight, extremely high risk, high reward player, I’m gonna be watching his development close over the next few years.

I thought kempe looked really solid, but I did not see a ton of chemistry with Kopitar and fiala after 1 game.

It’s going to be such a interesting division this year, I feel like there’s three or four teams that are all basically around the same spot, should be a fun year overall!.

Our debut game is tomorrow, against McDavid, lovely😂
