That was a game the Kings found a way to get at least 1 point out of last year. The record in 1 goal games was not going to be sustainable, everyone knew that. The way to counter that is to play better 2nd periods and build multiple goal leads, something they didn't do last year and didn't do again tonight.

You go up 1-0 in the 1st and then get 0 scoring chances in the 2nd? That is unacceptable.

Vilardi looked good. That’s the only positive thing I have to say about this shitty game. Can’t wait to see him scratched in the next game.

- Vilardi and Byfield were magical out there.
- TM needs to figure out the defense because by all accounts we have 8 or 9 NHL worthy defensemen in the org. That’s an embarrassment of riches getting their cheeks clapped with 4 goals opening night.
- All the right people were scoring.
- Super uneven game all the way around.
