Jesus Christ, I just looked it up. I can’t even remember the last time they gave up 50 shots. Quick’s shutout of Detroit from 12 years ago?

I've watched almost every single game since I started following this team in 2001, and that's the only other game I can think of that Quick put up 50 saves (and boy was that a great game).

First game of the year. At least Vilardi, Byfield and Iafallo looks promising. Durzi for everything he does well, he also does bad. That play was just brutal. LOL.

Not a smart play, but his teammates weren't helping him either. The other 4 guys shouldn't have been so stretched out up the ice. Were the other players on the ice expecting Durzi to take the puck with him from behind the net?

Kopitar actually had fewer minutes than Danault, but it's almost as if it was from the overall poor play by Kempe and Fiala. I think I counted 2 good shifts for Kempe all game.

The Roy Durzi pairing was brutal. I mean none of the defensive pairs were really any good tonight. But they were by far the worst. Gave up way too many high danger chances.

Yeah he had options. He mind as well hold that damn puck till the end of the period than do a freakin stretch pass from orange county to the other team. Sheesh.

Just the first game but Durzi was a hot mess all night. I mean some credit for the assist but seemed on the wrong side of everything defensively.

Happy for Vilardi though. We scored three goals in a game with very little sustained pressure. Maybe vilardi. Arty, Byfield will help elevate our offense in unexpected ways.

Kempe scored a whole bunch last year, but he didn't really "play" all that well. Tonight was par for that course.
