Watching the post game and you guys, I’m alarmed at Derek Armstrong’s slurred speech and general confusion. I believe he’s having a stroke, or he’s a raging alcoholic.

Army is just a good old Canadian boy that played a life of hockey taking his share of knocks to the head as they all do.

It sucks to see it. At least its on the last year of his contract.. 10 year deal - couldve easily been a buyout situation... they planned on JQ being the backup the last 2 years with Cal taking the reigns.. that didnt quite work out the way they planned due to Cal. They are playing w fire having this weak of a goalie pipeline.. I think its mandatory to pick up a rental if they want to take the playoffs seriously.

No hate for Quick here but, something is very off with Quick this season. The struggles are obvious and he needs to fix whatever it is or retire.

There's no way he retires and walks away from the rest of his contract. He's also hyper-competitive. I suspect he is smart enough to retire, but will wait for the offseason and go out like Brownie.

No hate for Quick here but, something is very off with Quick this season. The struggles are obvious and he needs to fix whatever it is or retire.

He cannot track the puck very well. This is resulting in lots rebounds and no.puck control. He always had a history of sliding well beyond the blue paint when moving from side to side but he had the athletic ability to compensate. That is not there anymore.

Age has a way of slowing a person down. The contract he signed turned out to be pretty much on point in terms of years

one last thing about the goalie sitch.. if Cop gets injured you've got nothing. Its like tightrope with no net... you dont want the whole season down the tubes over that. JQ is done. Cal 99% is done. Get a rental and call it a day - carry 3 goalies.

Get the feeling that was the proverbial "end of a winning streak" game, when you win a game or two you should lose.

A lot of people saying the team plays differently in front of Quick...i actually would pose the idea that it's OTHER teams that are playing Quick differently.

They just throw rubber at the net and pounce on rebounds. Players know when a guys is fighting the puck.

Highs & lows of this thread are awesome! We all knew it was coming.

4 goal lead most dangerous in hockey. Just enough to feel safe, not enough to hold onto the lead.

Good thing Todd saved that timeout for overtime. Doughty on the 4 on 3 PP. Have him screen the goalie because you don't want him passing or shooting.

Quick looked like he pulled something right? LTIR? Sucks, but this might be it. Team defense didn't help, but damn.

So about your 3rd string goalie being your starter Blake. Get a goalie. If you are waiting to see if Saros hits the market, fine. Goalie before the deadline. No trading 1st without a goalie.

Pretty much Todd at his presser. This was the Buffalo game all over again. Good teams don't blow a 3 goal lead going into the 3rd. Monday's video session will be ugly, starting with anderson horrible pinch on the first shift of the 3rd.

It’s not just that we blew a 5-1 lead. It’s the fact that we didn’t score again after the first that was more concerning for me.

Can't score without scoring chances. Outside the pp's, how many do you think they had in periods 2/3 or sustained pressure shifts. I'm guessing 3-4 at most. They tried to phone in another game with a big lead and it took a insane save by Quick in the shoot out to win 6-5.

Just watched the game, when the yotes scored their second goal i knew they would tie it up, just got canes game flashbacks. Idk if this team just get comfortable with such lead or sth else, but it’s unacceptable at this point.

In fairness, there is normally a standard that media members are held to. Also, it has gotten progressively worse over the last couple of years. my wife once asked if he was drunk.

TOI from last night- not the balance we saw the other night in Anaheim but the OT PP skews the #s a bit. Odd to put Lemiuex in the lineup just to give him 7 minutes of TOI. Overall balance still amazing and Kings can on most nights roll 4 lines.
