No hate for Quick here but, something is very off with Quick this season. The struggles are obvious and he needs to fix whatever it is or retire.

The goaltending success was largely due to team play. The days where the Kings could throw any goalie in net an have them put up great numbers are over.

The DL/DS boring chip and chase responsible D that got 2 cups... thats style is designed for lock down, you play the same style the whole game. With this system, aggressive forecheck, pushing the puck on the rush - its more a transition in style to lock things down.. thats my theory. Edit: i also think our D-corps is not as defensively responsible as the old teams.

My theory is your D has to play different style with JQ - you always have to worry about the gaping weak side net since he's always challenging the shooter outside the paint. His style in general creates more chaos on D with him so far out of the crease on many occasions.

Get the feeling that was the proverbial "end of a winning streak" game, when you win a game or two you should lose.

A lot of people saying the team plays differently in front of Quick...i actually would pose the idea that it's OTHER teams that are playing Quick differently.

I dont know I think at least one.. but I was just answering your question re how come they stop playing defense... in TM presser tonite someone asked if the team plays differently in front of JQ vs Copley.. TM said no. I think everyone notices it. Im just guessing what the answer is.
