I don’t necessarily blame Quick for last night, although I do think he’s pretty much done. I blame the mental fragility of the team. Theres a reason posters were joking about the coyotes coming back and that isn’t necessarily simply because Quick was in net but because weve seen this team come up short in the mental game all throughout the season. I will say they’ve been doing a better job of putting teams away lately, but they haven’t been facing too many good teams.

You say this, but I documented in another game thread, the FACTS....don't match up to this.....they simply don't. They have lost like 3-4 times they've been leading into the 3rd, they've lost a total of TWELVE times when leading at any point in the game, along with teams like NJ, Colorado, and teams like Dallas has done it 16 teams, Vegas has done it 8 times, Tampa Bay 9 times....etc...

When trailing at any point, LA is...JUST as good at coming back and winning, 12 times, Along with Winnipeg, Seattle has done it 11, NJ, BOS, CAR lead the league at 19, 16,16 along with TB at 16 etc.....interesting, because that indicates those teams, trail a lot more often....

But can we put to bed this idiotic myth, that the Kings are a MENTALLY FRAGILE team....it has nothing to do with facts ffs.

LOL feelings....not facts.....

Are they as good as teams in the East....nope....no team in the West is....not even COL this year, but....sure, let's count out the team that without Doughty, Arvidsson, and Fiala, took EDM to 7 games.....makes sense.
Literally any analysis about the future (including yours) can only be construed as a feeling instead of a fact. Your whole schtick is semantical horseshit

They may not have blown many games, but they've been making games interesting in 3rd periods, with last night's game being a prime example. Here's some more examples of the kings giving up goals late in game since the New Year.

2/18/23, up 5-1 in the 1st period against Arizona, end of regulation its 5-5, manage to win in a shootout
2/17/23 up 3-1 after 2nd period against the Ducks, at some point in that 3rd period it was 4-3 with about 7 minutes left.
2/13/23 up 5-0 against Buffalo, gave up 2 late goals. Even McLellan wasn't happy with how they played once up by 5.
1/31/23 Up 4-1 against the Canes entering the 3rd period, gave up 3 goals in the 3rd, end up losing in Overtime.
1/27/23 Up 3-0 against the Panthers halfway through the game. gave up 2 late goals going into the 3rd period. Score stays the same until late until Roy scores, but then Panthers get one a minute later, too late for a comeback. Copley had to make 45 saves in order to keep the win.
1/22/23 Up 2-0 against the Hawks entering the 3rd, Hawks score with about 3minutes left, Kings hold on to win.
1/21/23 This game was back and forth the start against the Preds, but kings enter the 3rd up 3-2. Proceed to give up 3 goals in the 3rd to lose 5-3.
1/14/23 This game is similar to the Preds loss. Tied 2-2 at one point in the game and then gave up 3 straight goals to end up losing 5-2 to the Devils.
1/05/23 Kings tied 2-2 with the Bruins entering the 3rd, give up 3 goals in the 3rd period.

You have to admit there's a pattern starting to show, even if they don't all result in losses. Kings also seem to tend to give up goals in bunches. Kings need to learn how to lock down games better and control momentum. Too many high event games

Dude, that's called hockey.....shit you can go down all 32 teams and get a similar list

LOL love it....everyone is in a panic about Quick.......they see 5 goals, and automatically think he should have stopped all 5 of them....

I'm not saying Quick has been good, he hasn't, but when the only f***ing analysis is brought is.....see Kings won despite Quick, he let in 5 goals, he sucks, it just tells me that the boneheads making those observations either don't watch the games, or don't understand what they were watching,

For Christ sake, the 1st goal, we had some f***ing clowns in here swearing up and down that "that was typical Quick, always out of position, always a bad rebound" etc...

Out of the 5, 2 he should have had, and even then one of those would have been 50/50.....but let's ignore context....

I'm glad someone is paying attention. The goal to start the 3rd was an example of total stupidity by both Anderson and Doughty. First, wtf is Mikey doing pinching like that up 5-2? That bonehead play, with no support lead to a 2 on 1 . Then Drew can't make up his mind how to play it and backs right into Quick, knocking him off his stance right as Keller shoots. Even Quick couldn't believe Drew did that. This was preseason type f-ups by both those two, our best defenders.

I think the point is that they probably aren't in OT if he's not swimming 5 feet out of the crease on more than one occasion.

They're also winning 8-2 if they played more than 20 min and not phoned in the last 40. Good teams don't do this. Remember Tampa, big lead, didn't sit on the score, just played consistent , smart hockey and won easily.

Can you imagine if they gave coaches some way to freeze time and talk it over with their teams?

First period felt like the team telling Blake that they didn't need Chychrun or any outside help. After that? Don't know. Haha.

Nothing to see here. This is the current NHL go look at teams all around the league. Restrictive rules are working and those 2 or 3 goal leads are no longer a lock. So much speed in the game and if you play conservatively while the other teams frantically pressure breakdowns happen.
