Where's a guy like Ryan Strome gonna fit into your guys lineup? W? C? play with Zegras?

He starts at center until McTavish pushes him to wing. He likely becomes Henrique 2.0. Can play the middle but get forced into a winger role. Too much talent (for now) to play the 3rd line center. He could get bumped up to 1st line wing depending on what happens with Henrique, but thats something I'm less sure of.

If we are near the playoffs color me surprised.

We’ll be decent/maybe good until the injuries start piling.

I think at times we will look like a solid playoff team, other times we will look like we would struggle against AHL teams. Like you said DWD, injuries set in and I think thats where you see their weakness. Ive got us pegged for finishing 5th/6th in the division, 11/th12th in the conference, and 21st overall. No luck on the lottery and picking 12th next draft.

I do expect an improvement in all areas except maybe GA. We should score more, but with the lack of blueline defense ability, I think GA goes up.

Our defense still looks like a bit of a mess, though it could end up being interesting by the end of the season. We might entice Thrun and Lacombe to sign by starting them in the NHL right away, so we could end up looking at something like this to end the year

Fowler-Drysdale
Vaakanainen-Thrun
Lacombe-Benoit

This is of course assuming Klingberg and Shattenkirk are traded and we don't do anything else. There's no veterans outside of Fowler, so we'll probably get some waiver claim/John Moore type dumps just so we have that line of protection.

I dont think PV will give him the term he wants to extend here. I have every expectation that Klingy will want to dip his toes back into the 7 year deals, and PV will offer him 4 or maybe 5 years, tops. He will improve our #1 PP unit, but I dont think we're going to have the #1 unit in the league.

He will increase his value through his PP play and get us a nice fat return at the deadline.

At the deadline I think we fetch a 1st, a 2nd and probably 2-3rds for our expiring UFAs

We need another forward (D too, but that's another story).
Lou usually not rushing to announce the deals. Makes me think Rodriguez might have signed with the Isles.

I think we’ll sign another forward in the next week or so. My guess is Verbeek held off after missing on Nino to get an asset from a team in cap hell. It looks like all teams are fine now so I assume he’ll sign a forward now.

You’d think that Helleson would have the inside track over both of them though.

I think McTavish plays alot of wing and fills in at center when injuries happen. I think this team has a chance to score goals, just not sure if they can defend

I maintain that cap hell isn't a thing. It's Cap Barstow - gross and unpleasantly hot but you can live there.

I wouldnt be surprised if at this point PV is done with signings and adjusts his plan to bring up another prospect (or two). Potentially there is a trade partner out there for one, but I dont see us signing another player this offseason.

You guys don't believe Max Kumquat is a top-6 FW anymore?

Although Kumquat and Jones on the third line against weaker competition is a load to handle.
He has to earn it back. Its a make or break year for Comtois. With guys like Perreault and Tracey not far away from getting at shot at the 3rd line winger spots, Comtois has to step it up.

Is Eklund starting in the NHL this year ? Sharks could have a stacked top6 with Eklund and Bordeleau in there.
Hertl, Meier, Couture, Eklund, Bordeleau, Barabanov.

lol I will never look at Comtois name the same after that typo.

To answer your question: He'll get opportunities but he shit the bed last year and is going to have to earn his way back up the lineup. That said, I imagine McTavish will be switched around the lineup quite often. Personally I see it as pairs again with the 3rd player being rotated.

Agreed. I don’t see the need for another top 9 forward right now. If anything I’d sign a 4th liner/face puncher to help Carrick.

Henrique-Zegras-Vatrano
McTavish-Strome-Terry
Comtois-Lundestrom-Silfverberg
Jones-Grant-Carrick
healthy scratches: Groulx, UFA face puncher or Hunter Drew.
