I'm just not remotely convinced hockey is in the same place. Just because some guy tweets a bar graph that says that Sonny Milano is elite defensively doesn't mean I gotta buy it
There’s not a lot of nuance with baseball either. Outcomes are pretty straightforward and well-defined on an individual basis, you can create a formulaic model out of it.
Too much nuance with hockey. Kind of hard to grade on a 1-for-1 model when you have to follow the responsibilities of four different people in a system. It’s the same problem I have with Pro Football Focus’s grading system
