He's getting the full year. They aren't in any hurry to improve.

Fletcher has been hiding all year. You barely see him or hear from him. They are gonna run with the narrative that injuries and bad luck caused all the issues and then Dave Scott is gonna come out at some point at the end of the year and say Chuck deserves another chance.

Over/Under if the select fans big question is how they can improve in the shootout

Out of curiosity, I decided to check out how the team is doing defensively at 5v5 compared to last season.

After all, the casuals and shills are swearing that the team is significantly better than last year. Torts has whipped them into shape, instilled accountability, improved effort, and forced players to play the right way.

Imagine my surprise...

At 5v5...2021-20222022-2023 (48 games)
Shot attempts against
(per 60)
60.7360.58
Expected goals against
(per 60)
2.722.74
High Danger attempts against
(per 60)
11.9712.82

Anything stand out to you offensively for metrics/analytics?

Only having one shootout so far this year is a blessing.

Why do you keep quoting +/-? GF/GA is just +/- in a different format. Is that a valid measure of play?
Ghost is -7, Risto is -4, so guess Fletcher made the right move? ;)
GA/60 isn't plus minus. It measures how many goals the team concedes per hour when that player is on the ice in 5 on 5 situations. 5on5 numbers take out shorthanded & empty net goals conceded, and Ristolainen isn't on the ice for attacking situations like powerplays and 6 on 5 because his offense has gone to total shit. The fact that the team concedes more goals against 3rd and 4th liners during Risto's minutes than they do against the top 6 forwards Provorov and Sanheim primarily play against, shows what a disaster his $25,500,000 contract is.

Since you randomly brought up Ghost yet again, Ghost has the 2nd best 5on5 GF% on his team's defense and Risto has the worst out of the 8 defensemen used by the Flyers despite being heavily sheltered compared to Provorov and Sanheim, and never having to play with DeAngelo whose defense is even worse than advertised.

I cannot imagine, with how checked out the fans are and the dismal state of things, having Fletcher running deadline shit at minimum. Losers.

It’s clear as day Val Camillo, of “Nattitude” & lucky urinals marketing fame, is going to take over for Dave Scott as Comcast Spectator Chairwoman & CEO, & Flyers Governor.

And she’ll want to put her mark on the Flyers. So I’m sure Comcast is just waiting until they put her in charge & letting her hire her new GM (probably Briere; Maine Mariners connection).

At 5v5 their shot attempts for/60, expected goals for/60, actual goals scored/60, and high danger attempts for/60 are all almost identical.

Biggest offensive difference I can see is TK is now shooting 16.78% instead of 7.27%, resulting in 1.7 goals/60, instead of 0.69. He's already scored 8 more goals than he did last year, but in 37 less games.

I guess fans will have to wait a little longer for their next 24/7 news cycle dopamine rush, at least from the Flyers.

Please find the optimum game set with the best results and then please build a narrative based around that sample size of why it happened.

This is not to be confused with cherry picking.

OK. This is the best sample I could find to prove Torts has improved the team.

Shot attempts against

Okay but take out the first 25 games.

The Cronyarchy doesn't care about any of that. They (Ahem, Clarke) care about feeling like they matter. That's the only thing that is important.
