LOL, I’m doing the math, need 64 SOG against. If they give up 64 SOG Wednesday, I think there will be a riot, lol.
That's right, it's at home... I leave for Mexico Wednesday morning, so I forgot it was here. We'll pretty comfortably break it in 2 games, but giving up 60+ to break the record would be a very Ducks way of breaking it haha.

Under Eakins Watch, the team had the worst PP % in NHL history and now will smash the record for most shots against in a season. Thats gotta be worth a banner and and an extension for Eakins!

I like Eakins, players seem to like him, and this has not all been on him, given the roster. But it’s going to be very hard finding another HC job on the NHL level. Feel bad, but we have to think of the teams best interest.

He doesn't seem like a bad dude and the roster is not great but he has failed in both stops in the NHL. Just because the team was decent for like a 1/3 of one season doesn't mean he is a good coach and I will be surprised if he gets a third try at being a head NHL coach after this year.

Sports are based on results and his results as a head coach have been abysmal for the two teams he has led. It doesn't matter how good a guy you are, if your teams don't win and constantly look terrible while setting records no one wants to set, your chances of continuing in your job as a head coach should be slim to none.

Yeah don’t feel that bad, we need to start turning this ship. Roster and coaching need to be addressed.

Nashville would hang up a banner for this achievement... wow.

It’s main forum thread worthy but as a more positive poster, rather stick to the good stuff. Was going to bump that Zegras overrated thread when he hit 60 points, which is a huge accomplishment and something to be proud of. But I said, meh. lol

It’s tough. We have seen some good with the kids.
But team d is non existent. Swarm is just substituted for panic it seems.

And we aren’t capable of completing NHL level passing in or coming out of our zone

Some of that is yesrs of bad coaching isn’t it?

Do they get a banner on the rafters? :sarcasm:

Hopefully that banner says, "Welcome, Connor Bedard, to the Anaheim Ducks!" And then an adjacent banner that it illuminated by flashing LEDs, "If we win the Connor Bedard sweepstakes, then steaks' on me! - @Leonardo87 "

The scoreboard will have a short clip on loop of Leo's avatar overlayed on Deuce Bigalow's head saying, "There must be a mistake." Afterwards, there's a clip of his client on the bed, opposite of Leo, querying, "Did someone say steak?"

For the billionth time, Eakins is not in charge of the PP unit.

- 2017 summer: Asst. coaches Konowalchuk (PP) and Morrison were hired by the Ducks.
- 2018 summer: Konowalchuck fired by the Ducks, Morrison becomes PP coach. Asst coach Wilford hired for defense.
- 2019 summer: Eakins becomes head coach; asst coaches stay
- 2020 summer: Asst coaches stay, finished with 8.9% PP
- 2021 summer: Morrison and Wilford fired. New assistant coaches Ward (PP), Brown (PP), and Stothers (defense/PK) hired.
--- Had a top-5/8 PP before Verbeek blew up the roster at the TDL.

- 2022 summer: Ward left the org for personal reasons. New asst coach Craig Johnson hired.

Ward leaving the org had a significant affect on the Ducks' PP for the 2022-23 season. It's the GM's job to find the appropriate assistant coach(es). Murray took blame for Morrison and Wilford, which is why we had two asst coaches to improve the moribund PP unit for the 2021-22 season.

If you're going to criticize, then criticize correctly.

UFA defenseman look rancid, so unless we are going the trade route, I don't see how much better our team can be next year.

To be honest, I don't think any coach will have success with this defenseman on our roster. They will either be a very green or patchwork defense.

So then you have the debate whether to let Eakins ride it out so that the new coach has a fresh start once the defense forms or let the new coach groom the defense the way he wants.
