Nice to see the young core putting in extra work

A few things...

1) I'm glad Mr. Lee has an actual press pass (it feels like he has one to get all this access) by moving on from the hockey writers to the Tribune.

2) Jamie's bulking up! He doesn't look slim anymore.

3) I can't find the Halloween picture of Zegras and Drysdale in a Ghostbuster uniform and McTavish in a basketball uniform all posing together online. It's a great pic! I don't think I saved that pic.

so much of your job performance is how much you enjoy it, and none of it is about how much you're paid or for how long you've been knocking around, your education or your 'pedigree.' Lee's resume probably doesn't check nearly as many boxes as Dillman/Stephens yet he's the one pumping out the volume and quality of information that we've been longing for years. it's nice to have a writer who's actually a fan of the team, rather than one who has admitted he's not a fan of the team (Stephens) or one who's a fan of the team's rival (Dillman)

Stephens is a long form writer. He keeps lots of tidbits to himself until he can get this big articles out. I like his long form writing because there's more depth to the article than regurgitated news, which we find often in national media or even our own official Ducks media. He placates to media trends and narratives too much for my taste such as always giving the slant that Gibby wants out of Anaheim.

Dillman is a better long form writer than Stephens. I envied the Kings for having Dillman write for them and wished the Ducks had a writer like her many years ago. In Dillman's current capacity, she doesn't do the long form any longer with the OCRegister. I'm disappointed with that revelation because she's become like a normal beat writer.

Lee is the social media guy. His long form writing is basic compared to Stephens and Dillman. Being a part of the Tribune media should help improve his long form, but his niche is social media. The sooner he gains a larger following, the better for him and the Tribune. Lee's been more active recently on social media than when he was with the Hockey Writers. I like Lee's found his niche with social media and we're the benefactors. He's attempting to start a youtube page for Ducks and only has 12 subscribers. I do hope he garners more interest than that or even more than the Crash the Pond guys on youtube.

I just subscribed, so he is up to 13 subscribers. It was a little difficult to find, but I managed to stumble into it. I believe in supporting people who do a good job.

Stephens is a someone I would’ve loved to have been lost by our organization. He does nothing particularly well, and he’s always pretty undeservingly cocky( like he’s some all knowing insider ) I wish the old fart no harm, but I would rather he vanish like a fart in the wind from the Anaheim ducks organization
Yeah, he’s always been sorta smug towards inquiring fans over the years.

Since there's a scarcity of Ducks content, I have no problem with Stephens being around for the Ducks just like I have no problem with Crash the Pond guys being around. Now, I might not agree with the content, but at least it's talking fodder. Forever Mighty is a youtube podcast I'll listen to from time to time, but they're infrequent.

I'm just glad to be a part of this community because this is where all Ducks info comingle in a more than timely manner.

I didn't really know where to put this, so I guess I'll leave it here, because this is astounding. Given historic precedent, it's amazing this team is where they are in the standings.

Look at all the teams around them. We're winning a lot of games compared to #1, #3, and #4. Anaheim has more wins those all those three teams. That's why I'm not too concerned with high SOG's. That's just our roster makeup, but we're able to overachieve often and accepting we have no proper defense.

The record shown up in the graphic isn't our true record b/c they aren't recording OTL and SOL as ties. Here's our record in the 34 games were where allowed 40+ SOG: 11-17-6 (28 pts). That means we're accruing at least a point in half of the 40+ SOG games. (Yes, I have all this on excel.)

Games 1-25 (25 games): 4-6-2
Games 26-50 (25 games): 4-7-2
Games 51-69 (19 games): 3-4-2

Not only are we terrible at preventing 40+ SOGs, but we also own the worst goal differential in the league at -99. We aren't in last place either.

29. Ducks, 56 pts, -99 GD
30. Chicago, 54 pts. -69 GD
31. San Jose, 52 pts, -69 GD
32. Columbus, 49 pts, -80 GD

In the first 25 games, we were losing games with a goal differential that was balanced among our losses.

Then in the next 24 games, we would trade winning games in regulation for blowouts against stronger teams. Our GD is similar between the first 25 games and the next 24 games, but our Pts % had a huge jump.

In our last 20 games, we've only blown out by 4 or more goals three times. We've lost with a GD of -3 four times. All of the other games, we've netted at least a point. We have taken another huge jump in improvement in Pts %, and GD.
