I think it would be fair to say if Verbeek makes a coaching change that it will work out better than it did in San Diego based solely on the difference of the amount of time and preparation he'd have in assessing what he wants and seeing what's out there.Verbeek was on record saying that a team with new players and system takes 20+ games to figure things out. That statement, with the .500 statement, indicate that Eakins is achieving pretty much exactly what Verbeek expected. The key point will be how he feels McTavis, Zegras, and Terry were developed.
For everyone pining for a new Verbeek picked coach, keep in mind that the AHL coaching roster is 100% him this year.

He didn't have as much time to do that with San Diego last year as he will with Anaheim this year.
