Any idea why they didn't qualify Ustimenko? With Fedotov out and Sandstrom possibly playing for the Flyers (but let's face it, Chuck will sign a schlub veteran), I would have thought they'd keep Ustimenko.

Injuries, he didn't take workouts or trainings serious, and also not improving (saw that on twitter)

Seriously though, this team will be so f***ed with the addition of another huge, soon to be unmovable (Gaudreau is a 60-75 pt player on this team), contract. The next GM will be in a FAR worse position than Hextall was.
If he comes here though you know they'll slap the C on him

They’ll forget it once Gaudreau signs.
Yeah they aren't real fans, they're the brain damaged rejects that this shit franchise plays to though

I just have a hunch - if we get Gaudreau, it'll be for trading for his rights and getting that extra year.

I guess we will know today if that scenario is the path they want to go down.

As far as I know, it doesn't work that way anymore. In order to get the extra year, the player has to have been on your roster at the end of the previous season.

The only way they could get that to work is for the Flames to sign him to 8 years and trade him.

I am surprised they couldn't find taker

Lindbolm is productive 3rd line LW who can play spot top 6 duty when needed

Only 25 yrs old and with 1 yr left on deal

The entire deal knows exactly what Cuck wants to do, because he’s dumb enough to disclose his plan well in advance. They are offering crumbs because of it. Any other half competent GM would be able to get a mid round pick at the least.

I’m not. He’s vastly overpaid for his production. Free agency is riddled with similar players production wise that teams let go this year. He is an amazing person with an incredible survival story so If they buy him out it’s strictly business.

It doesn’t get more perfect culture building than buying out the always smiling cancer survivor to sign DeAngelo.
They make it so difficult to root for this team.

You know, if the GM didn't make 3 year bridge contracts the standard for first year RFAs, maybe they wouldn't have to buy him out in year 3. Lindblom bought out. Myers traded twice. Hart's up next.

When do we find out the damage?

I assume JVR trade has to happen today to give Flyers flexibility to be player for JG or anyone else in FA

Of course, Fletcher could throw curveball and trade away someone like Provorov which would make no sense to me, but I believe you guys threw it out there as possibility this offseason about a month ago

Was that legit concern or just a "Well Fletcher is terrible and it's what an idiot would do" type of stuff?
