Don’t fall for it. Guy can’t even skate on his own.

JG is coming off a career year, buyer beware.
Last three seasons 5x5 scoring, pp/60:
Marchand 3.02
McDavid 2.96
Marner 2.94
Panarin 2.93
Matthews 2.91
MacKinnon 2.87
Stamkos 2.77

Huberdeau 2.70
Pastrnak 2.70
Draistail 2.68
Stone 2.66
Fiala 2.66
Ehlers 2.59
Thomas 2.58
Burakovsky 2.58
JG 2.58
Kyrou 2.57

Solidly in the second tier of top scorers, should be getting $9-10M but no more, given he's 29.

Lemieux, Hayes and De Angelo. Just shoot me now.

DeAngelo & Lemieux tried to do a podcast together when with the Rangers. I think the team stepped in & told them no way that’s happening.

Gaudreau not signing here would rile up the authentic fans and maybe management might actually have some pressure on them

The authentics on Twitter want to kill Chuck Fletcher after this past week.

This is DeAngelo’s boy. I could see this shit.

Crazy thing is Lemieux had his best season by far with the Kings, xGF 56.03%, xGFrel +3.34. 1.49 pp/60, xGF/60: 2.92.
He also was a solid PK guy in LA.

Now maybe that was a one year fluke, but if they don't think Ratcliffe is ready for 4LW, Lemieux could be low cost depth in that role (Brown, Hodgson are RH, Willman has speed but isn't very physical and can't finish).

I think Chuck not moving salary and running it back with just adding deangelo is a big possibility.

I don’t subscribe or whatever, but it seems O’Connor is hinting at an upcoming buyout for Oscar. Shall see. (I’m going more off the comments from those seemingly able to read it)

I despise everything to do with the business world, I think it’s a disgusting shithole - and it will be a little sad to see they somehow couldn’t find a way to make it work for him here if this is true. There is more to the world than $, and cap space.

He said from what he’s heard he believes it’s not a lock but it’s more likely than not to happen.

Giroux couldn’t keep this franchise mediocre last year. Gaudreau isn’t going to either when the rest of the team is getting worse.

It's not inconceivable that Torts could get them into the playoffs by playing no event hockey and fixing special teams. Gaudreau would help with the latter. It would be a disaster though and I wouldn't bet on it anyway.

We need to just rebuild, and stop pretending we are even able to retool, we just don't have the assets for it, and now we don't even the picks to start rebuilding

Lindblom had a very solid second half to last season. I just don’t get the reasoning to buy him out. Such a stupid f***ing team.
The belief is that he won’t return to what he was before cancer and his contract is it much for essentially a 4th liner.

With that said, it’s sad they are in this position when you have to unload character because you’ve added talent that can’t play d or that has character
