I could be wrong but when looking at the upcoming season, one has to check into the fact that the Bruins, Caps, and Penguins are starting to slide due to injuries and aging talent on the roster. The Eastern Conference is starting to re-cycle with teams like the Rags, Buffalo and Carolina on the rise. As a result it's tough to predict how the Flyers will end up next season.

All 3 will have 10-20 more points than this Flyers roster.

The Flyers will also finish below NJ. They are looking at a battle for the 7/8 spot in the Division with Columbus. They'll likely finish with somewhere around the 8th pick in the Draft. They are permanent residents of purgatory.

That roster is absolutely bottom 10

For the following players, I'll try to give the best possible endorsements:

Courtier - elite center
TK - very good 2nd line winger
Sanheim - very good dman
Provorov - very good dman assuming he gets in the proper frame of mind
Hart - good goalie who can be a cup winning goalie

Other than the roster is basically crap.
Its definitely a bottom feeder.
For example, Hayes is a glorified 3rd lne center getting paid 7 million. Atkinson? whatever, doesn't excite me at this point in his career.

All these so-called young foundation pieces like Tippet, York, Frost....... you'll be lucky if one of them becomes a positive contributor for a 3 season period

LA, Pittsburgh, Washington, Tampa, and Chicago all tanked out to build the core of their Cup winning rosters.

For some reason you don't have the guts to admit the Flyers are already basement dwellers and doing a rebuild can't get any worse than it already is.
they did not, look the pens roster in 04 when they got crosby :Pittsburgh Penguins 2003-04 roster and scoring statistics at hockeydb.com

tampa bay lightning roster when they drafted stamkos:Tampa Bay Lightning 2008-09 roster and scoring statistics at hockeydb.com

where are all the 18 and 19 olds on this roster? because that's the tanking roster, no vets, just young players. that's tearing it down, none of these teams tore it down all these teams kept their vets and just werent good enough.

for some reason you just want a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds on this roster and think we are just going to win cups like that, it doesnt work like that. these teams kept their vets to help the youth, what are you suggesting is the total opposite. ottawa, buffalo, phoenix did nothing like these teams. they didnt keep their vets, that's why they are struggling to win. you need a balance of vets and youth, you cant have a just straight up youth movement.

Oh, I should have known that you're arguing a point that literally nobody is saying, as always.

We are going to get bent over trying to move JVR/Provy so we can sign johnny gaudreau…it’s pretty much a done deal at this point…they have telegraphed there interest in him for so long, Fletcher is gonna get desperate and make a dumb move to get under the cap…all teams have to do is sit back and wait for Fletcher to accept whatever deal is presented

I don't think it will be that hard. Just buying out Lindblom opens up $3.333m.

Nothing ground breaking but Friedman said the Flyers are getting squeezed for a JvR trade. The league knows their situation & is using that leverage against them. He said then Flyers have other players out there now in trades too to see what they can do (didn’t mention names). He said the Flyers have limit for what they can offer Gaudreau.

He talked about Giroux. He mentioned Florida, Ottawa, & Edmonton. He said Florida wants him back & they’re gonna try to move some things around to make it work. He said if that can happen he thinks Giroux is back in Florida.

It was always good.
Debatable at the time of the trade. Perception shifted overwhelmingly in favor when Niskanen performed unexpectedly well in his single season.

In hindsight, Flyers could’ve probably re-signed Gudas. Is there as much push to trade for Ristolainen in that case?

Really good thing they got that DeAngelo extension out of the way before pursuing Gaudreau :laugh::laugh:

There's something calming in knowing that the Panthers might not be able to re-sign Giroux because of a Keith Yandle buyout.

Since there's no room for Provorov on the PP and he's going to be a whiny bitch about it, I would try and move him for a cheaper LHD who can defend better and doesn't need to be placated with underserved PP minutes.
york played well as a top line player, i think he would fine there full time.

It’s really kind of amazing how incompetent they are. We’ve all known for a while now that they view JG as their holy grail this offseason, which is stupid enough in its own right. Now they can’t even execute on that strategy because they re-signed Risto and TDA and have already burned through most of the assets they could use to sweeten a JVR deal, and every team in the league is salivating over the idea of bending Chuck over in a Provorov, Sanheim, TK deal.
