I took it as JG didn’t text back a team who inquired, because JG already knows where he is going. What’s this in reference to?
That’s what I assumed it to be, but I have a fair amount of people ignored.I took it as JG didn’t text back a team who inquired, because JG already knows where he is going.
That young and upcoming team for sure isn’t us……. So he’s locked in on one place and if the team he didn’t reply to is “young and upcoming” thy certainly sounds like the devils….
Was it the Flyers? The Flyers are a young and upcoming team from a certain point of view. The team that couldn't get an answer was not NJ. I can say that.
Makes me think Carolina then. But I’m not good at guessing games haThe team that couldn't get an answer was not NJ. I can say that.
DisgustingI know of a young up and coming team that couldn't even get a text reply fwiw. Whatever it is sounds done.
Oh good okThe team that couldn't get an answer was not NJ. I can say that.
If they miss out on him now to the Devils..
The hometown thing is a bit overblown, yeah Gaudreau wants to come back to the States and close to his family like Treliving said in his PR but NJ gets it done also. It's not like he Adam Foxed himself, he spent eight years in Calgary so I'm pretty sure the difference between NJ and Philadelphia isn't a big deal. Plus he's a hell of a lot better fit in an up and coming team like NJ than this dumpster fire that's going on.
10%, 90.75 is the offseason maxOut of curiosity, how far are they able to go over the cap in the offseason? Is that a thing still?
Is it conceivable they sign him and deal with the cap following it?
It's really not though.
His hometown status is the main thing that seems to have him considering us. That's pretty well documented at this point.
Listen, I don't even want Johnny Hockey, but it's clear it's going to come down to us and someone else barring Fletch being able to clear space.
So, theoretically, they could sign him to a ~$10M AAV contract and be right under that number....assuming Cap Friendly's number is accurate, which says they have $79.04M.10%, 90.75 is the offseason max
Only problem with that is Cuck really backs himself into a corner, so he'd probably end up trading away our '23 1st and Florida's '24stSo, theoretically, they could sign him to a ~$10M AAV contract and be right under that number....assuming Cap Friendly's number is accurate, which says they have $79.04M.
Of course, they will need to trade other players quickly to re-sign the RFAs.
Oh for sure - it's kind of my line of thinking. It's probably the worst possible outcome. You get to sign JG, but then you have to trade other assets (Provy, Sanheim or TK, 1st round picks etc) just to get to compliance.Only problem with that is Cuck really backs himself into a corner, so he'd probably end up trading away our '23 1st and Florida's '24st

And you can put players on LTIR in the offseason.10%, 90.75 is the offseason max
He got the heaviest minutes on the team last season. As much as I disagree they can’t move Provorov without another heavy minute defender coming back. They don’t believe Sanheim is that type of player.
