Why are we dunking on *checks notes* William Stromgren?

Pretty well known that draft is a gigantic fluke due to a global pandemic
Just getting unnecessarily excited about Stankoven. Stromgren is unfortunate collateral damage

Exaclty the 2021 draft was a much bigger crapshot than normal drafts usually already are .Just look at Johnston. Stars may have been the only team to really scout him that year because the only organized hockey he played that year was the U18 tournament in Dallas.

There's no way that's true. U18s are one of the most important tournaments in hockey from a draft perspective. Every team in hockey wouldve had scouts watch every second of Team Canada at that tournament, even in COVID world.

Dallas does seem to scout the GTHL pretty heavily, they likely saw a ton of Wyatt as a 15-16 year old and that probably gave them a leg up on some of the teams with a smaller scouting budget.

haven't been able to watch as much of the blazers this year, but at least tonight, seminoff looks really solid on both ends of the ice.

waiting for some stank magic still.

thank goodness for onhockey. what a beautiful world we live in.

Stankoven was a pretty hyped prospect in 21. While it was foreseeable he would be a borderline 1st Rd pick, to slip to 47 was very surprising. Most wanted him with their early 2nd.

Might have been a case of scouts advising of their Internal 6'0 rule so passed.

With Stankoven its not just that he's not 6'0 . He's not 5'10-ish like more 5'5-ish

Stankoven isn't a hobbit

Remember when Brayden Point fell to the third round? Or when Debrincat fell.....? It happens every few years. Scouts let a talented undersized player slip through the cracks

Kamloops loses. Brutal way to lose it too with their own player taking out their goalie

Kamloops blew a 4-1 lead as well

i bet 5 vbucks he makes the ahl squad.
Also very possible. Or he may make the team initially and struggle to get playing time. It depends on how overloaded Texas is going to try to be on veterans. He's going to be competing with all of Arcuri/Wheatcroft/McDonald/Stranges for those developmental spots.
