Yeah I’m Evan Rodrigues.

No you weren’t.

Tkachuk is a Stanley cup champion. Connor Mcdavid and Draisaitl didn’t even bother showing up to the finals. Sounds like they could use some thinking.
Yes i was. 1988 and 1990.

You wont get me on hating on McDrai, I dont care. I dont know them personally, nor am i on the team. Also the sun comes up and you have to go to work the next day win or lose. So keep chirping.

Things like this were bound to happen. There's a reason players don't try hard at the ASG.

And let's cut the dishonesty about best on best. The tourney was never best on best when a good portion of the league's star players were excluded from competing. Four nations competed? Yes. Best on best? Dont embarrass yourself.

The real winners of the exhibition were the teams who weren't affected much. Looking at you Washington. Glad that the top team in the league had nobody worthy of "best on best."

With the Panthers Matthew has shown nothing but being a team player. Most Every player would’ve tried to play in that game. Unless he got poor info from the training staff, This is more on the head coach not reading the situation and putting the brakes on a player that he knows is hurt.

“.....outside of game 7 for the Stanley Cup”.
Use his whole quote or don’t use it at all
This i agree with. THe coaching staff did not have a handle on that team. The team chose what it wanted to do and when it wanted to it. The coaching staffs inability to actually coach the players lead to the US player running their mouth in the media fed the Canadians more than enough bulletin board material to fill 2 or 3 boards. The staff should have reigned these guys in and kept them on a more even keel emotionally. Quiet confidence is always more intimidating and controllable than running mouths and being the loud idiot.

IMO of course.

oh they did...

NHL old man country club vibes kept them off the teams. Canadas best goaltender this year plays on the capitals. Dylan Strome and Tom Wilson could have been on the team as well.

but i understand your sentiment.

LTIR incoming ? Or is he actually done for the season.

Not sure how he feels about the staged fight for no reason now lol but I can't imagine he feels good. It looked like an arm/shoulder injury when he went down, his arm went under his body.

Have your stars be your fighters is never the answer. Hoping he’s getting all the support he needs via his group chat
I mean he was instrumental in them winning the cup, shit happens. I think it was dumb to a staged fight at the tourney, was entertaining for sure but this pretty much ruins Florida's chances at a repeat.

Thoses two « warriors » can’t even play back after the 4nations.

I’m pretty sure Owners gonna find a way to veto guys from going to thoses tournaments in the future. Can’t think Ottawa and Florida uppee echelon are happy about this.

Maybe have the tournament after the season next time?

Damn, you must not like hockey. That was the best hockey we've seen in 10 years.

Which is hilarious because if OT went the other way the Tkachuk bros are called the heart and soul of the team that took down Canada. Sports talking points are fickle for a reason.
I'm a Canadian who has happy/proud to see Canada win, but the above is so true. The post-hoc narratives are applied and tend to stick forever. We now get to hear about McDavid rising to the moment, Binnington being a gamer, Crosby still being Captain Canada, etc.

Matthews easily, easily could have buried one of those chances. If that happens, the narrative shifts entirely. It is indeed all so fickle.

Anyway, tough break for Tkachuk.

As a hockey fan, it was a privilege watching that tournament. It makes me wish the league were only comprised of ~10 teams so we could see that much talent on the ice night-in night-out. Although I suppose even if that were the case, the intensity would be lower than it was in the tournament. Glad to see the players rise to the occasion and give it their all.

I'm assuming the owners are happy to accept a few injuries to key players in exchange for the massive exposure of the tournament and presumably the financial windfall the followed.

Questionable decision by the US team management to have him play over Connor in the condition he was in...

I don't think it's on Tkachuk at all. The guy is a gamer and wanted to be part of the game, but management should've made a judgement call for the sake of the team.

Guy tried to pull a Bergeron and play with an injury but he just doesn't have the dawg in him like Bergy. He failed America.

It’s a leg injury, maybe groin injury...the severity a secret for now

Yea groin injury you just can’t play through. You’re at its mercy. When the camera showed ktachuk’s before the game waiting for the anthem, he had the “I think I’m screwed” face on. Turns out he was

History is written by the victors, I guess.

There is no verified proof that he was hurt during fight... nor is there any proof that he is out for the season ..

Yet here we sit with people claiming these narratives.

Never change HF
