I love the “Team X is 12-4 when player Y gets a point, but 4-6 when he doesn’t” stat.

I think Wilson for Marner could be something. I’m not even sure Washington would have to add much.

Marner would be interesting because he’s one of the few elite playmaking wingers in the league rather than a center, so theoretically he could play opposite Ovechkin on the top line and really drive play and create chances.

His salary would certainly be a problem though. Not sure how that’d work with the cap unless Backstrom hangs em up.

Barring a backstrom retirement they’d need to ship off kuz (and mantha if possible) for picks, which I hope they can pull off anyway

Salary could work if one of Kuznetsov/Mantha/Backstrom go.

Kuznetsov for Avs first (or something like that), then Wilson+ for Marner seems somewhat realistic.
