Cbj is doing surprisingly well this year, I assume Monaghan and werenski are having good seasons

Monahan and Werenski should be in for Hart consideration or the coach, just because everyone predicted they continued to be a bottom 5 and so far is a pleasant surprise

Criminally underrated

Should definitely be in the convo. There are about 3 other defenseman who have legitimately been playing better with significantly less support than Makar despite his current lead in scoring mostly feeding off of MacKinnon and Rantanen on the PP.

If we finish like 5 points or so out of WC2 position Evason easily wins Jack Adams award. If CBJ make it to a WC spot, which isn't likely but not out of the question at this point its a lock.

I am telling you not as a homer coping but if you want a long shot bet that can pay off I would put a small amount of money down on CBJ making the playoffs because there's something here right now and nobody is noticing.

Z has been quietly elite for awhile but this year he’s an absolute animal. He’s so dangerous offensively and solid defensively. Also, Fabbro as his partner has been a revelation.

The most notable thing about his point totals is that he only has 8 PP points. He’s so good 5v5.

Hated his game for USA this summer and we don’t need another scoring D with Fox & Hughes, but Werenski has basically forced Team USA’s hand. I think he has taken Sanderson’s spot.

on pace for about 140 blocked shots (doesnt hit at all, though)

Imagine if he were on a decent team.

“imagine if he was on a decent team”

this whole narrative of sh!tt!ng on the jackets because you know nothing about them/it has traditionally been the thing to do is tiring.

educate yourself. we are a decent team this year.

Werenski is helping to drag the Blue Jackets to respectability (now 19th in the league), probably just shy of the range where candidates can start earning Norris consideration. If they rise much higher than their current position in the standings, which is looking likely, he will be a Norris finalist. Columbus is quietly a good/great story this season and they should start getting more credit the rest of the way. Werenski is going to receive a lot of plaudits for their success.

That team is surprisingly deep at forward. Kent returning now and then jenner returning later would be a fun team to watch come playoff time

As a Canucks fan, there's zero reason to exclude somebody from the discussion due to lack of previous success. It's an old boys club standard that needs to die. If he's the best, he's the best.

It's not because of a lack of previous success, it's because Hughes and Makar are much better.
