And Jaromir Pytlik has finally shown up in a game!

I couldn’t find info about him anywhere but I admittedly don’t know any good sources for Czech hockey news.

The only thing I knew was Elite Prospects had a red cross next to his name so he was presumably injured.

He played for LHK Jestřábi Prostějov in the Chance Liga. He played 14:54 (all even strength) and got 2 assists in 2-1 OT win. So nice job.
Get him to Utica and let him go. They need centers and he needs to play so we can see what he has, damn it.

I like the enthusiasm but Pytlik would be in the ECHL at best right now, he’s got a long ways to go to even establish a pro career in a weaker European league. Hopefully he can stay healthy and gain some ground this season.

Just watched BU-Lowell game to get a look at Case McCarthy (as well as Flyers' picks Jay O'Brien and Devin Kaplan).

On the plus side, McCarthy seemed to be head-to-head when Lowell's top line was on the ice and he did move the puck quickly up the ice and attempted the long stretch pass.

On the downside was a dangerous turnover that led to a break on which he took a slashing penalty.

Also, it seems that Lane Hutson and Ty Gallagher have surpassed him on the Terriers' pecking order (unless the BU staff is just looking to see what they have early in the year).

I can`t understand why he wasn`t sign on AHL deal. He is 21 yo.

We already signed him so I assume he’s coming over. His ELC slide so it will still have 3 seasons left next year.
It’s going to be a long and winding road for him with NJ. He’s got a long term signed Siegs and of course Luke Hughes ahead of him. The good news for him is that most of the other prospects ahead of him are a couple of years older so if he’s willing to put in a season or two with Utica he might get a real chance at a spot. The bad news for him is that Mukhamadullin is a first round pick and he likely comes over next season to compete for a spot as well. It’s a good problem to have if you are Nj.

He is 2.5 years development before possibly being ready for the NHL. Siegenthaler maybe gone by then. What you think our roster will look like changes dramatically year by year.

I will say that I don't think guys like Siegenthaler move all that often and he's signed for 5 more years. But yeah, anything can happen.

Don't forget Seamus Casey........God damn our prospect depth on D is just ridiculous.

As a European pro my question is whether he is willing to play two years in the AHL? If he comes over next season and doesn't have a spot in NJ by the end of next year does he go back to Europe? I'm always a bit skeptical that a guy with a well paying alternative to an AHL salary on an ELC is going to want to stick it out in the AHL.

I was thinking in terms of left handed defenders. There is also Orlov who is generating a bit of early season KHL buzz. The defensive prospect depth was obviously a priority for Fitz and he's done a nice job building the pipeline on both the right and left side. I guess he tries to rebuild the center pipeline over the next couple of drafts.

He was probably willing to play AHL this season. He will be in Utica next season with Mukhamadullin.
