Lower on the depth chart amongst defensemen prospects, but Topias Vilen is playing for Finland's U20 team along with Flyers prospect Samu Tuomaala this weekend at a 4 Nations Tournament in Lapland.

Appears to be "B" squads from Finland and Sweden with weaker teams from Czechia and Slovakia (the latter replacing Russia).

46. Dawson Mercer, RW, New Jersey

20 years old | 6 feet | 180 pounds | Shoots right

Drafted: No. 18 in 2020
Skating: Below NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: NHL average
Compete: High-end
Shot: Above NHL average

Analysis: Mercer had a fantastic rookie NHL season, scoring 42 points and looked like a legit middle-of-the-lineup forward from the get-go of his NHL career. Mercer has great offensive skills and can make plays, but it’s his work ethic that really stands out. As such a young player in the NHL, he won a ton of battles and his ability to generate offense in the high percentage areas is rare for a player his age. The only downside to his game is his footspeed, but everything else about his toolkit is clear top-six forward ability.

Thanks for sharing that. I’m not sure Mercer qualifies as a prospect anymore after playing a full NHL season though.

Pronman has shifted to ranking every player that’s under 23 by September. So that includes players who’ve had multiple NHL seasons as well as players that were just drafted. Jack Hughes is #1!

EDIT: Ok i now realize you’re saying that because of which thread this was posted in.

Two years ago I was thrilled with the Misyul pick , now it's like him and Cormier are two after thoughts. We have drafted a ton of dmen the last 2 drafts so Misyul panning out and coming here isn't as important/needed but I would still like to see him become something at the NHL level for us.

He played 16, 15, 17 and 15 min in the last 4 games. I will return to him after some time. His weakest side is game with the puck in all three zones.

Top 100 college players to be excited about.

2. Luke Hughes, D, Michigan: The New Jersey Devils pick could very well find himself in the Hobey Baker conversation thanks to his immaculate skating and offensive capabilities on the back end.

36. Seamus Casey, D, Michigan: As soon as he stepped on the ice with the Wolverines, it seemed like Casey was making plays. The freshman comes in from the NTDP after going 46th overall to the New Jersey Devils this past summer.

56. Samu Salminen, C, UConn: A smart, playmaking pivot who can dominate in the faceoff circle, Salminen makes his North American debut with Connecticut. The New Jersey Devils pick is a Finnish national.

93. Cole Brady, G, UMass: Making the move from Arizona State, Brady joins the Minutemen for his sophomore season. The New Jersey Devils prospect has a very projectable 6-foot-5 frame in the crease.

96. Charlie Leddy, D, Boston College: I really liked Leddy with the NTDP last year, even though it's not easy to stand out as a more defensive-oriented defenseman. Clearly the New Jersey Devils agreed when they drafted him this summer.

Fantilli at #1 over Hughes?! I'm outraged!

Popugaev isn’t the only zombie prospect to rise from the dead, Pasic has 4 points in 5 games. Not sure what happened to him, his production got pretty dreadful on some very dreadful teams but nice to see him bounce back.

He’s a clip of the goal (with an excited Swedish man viewer soundtrack) plus random google translated praise from Twitter! Perhaps the best kind of praise.

Yes, according to Cap Friendly we have them until June 2023.
Nice. If Fitz will decide that Pasic can make impact, he could sign him. A couple of years ago I watched his games. He played in the fourth line. Now it definitely cannot be called actual information. In any case, for a late pick, even local success is another good sign, the scouts are working properly.
