Trotz would be my ideal choice. A few years and let him transition into front of office. Babcock is a good coach but a total dick so idk how that would work.

Any of those would be ideal... This team should not be this bad.. Unless Verbeek has told them to coast on purpose..

Since leaving Detroit, I don't think Babcock has shown he's a good coach. And even in Detroit there was some questions. I have no desire to see that type of old school ego around the current ducks players.

Reading the Stephens article, it sounds like Dallas is all but locked in this season barring the literal inability to win more than 20 or so games but more importantly if there's no progression or even regression from the young guys. I think even if the team isn't winning games, as long as McTavish and Drysdale progress he's safe. If those two guys in particular do show an upward trajectory over the next few months, Dallas will be here even if we're losing a ton of games.

I mean a GM isn't firing the coach he just extended after 7 games. The idea that it was even an option at this point was just a fantasy on the internet.

We can blame Eakins for always putting Lundestrom with plugs.

So Eakins wants to call out Lundestrom? literally your fault you never put him in a position to succeed. absolutely do not buy the idea he's a good development coach and this is another reason why, he's gonna ruin lundestrom's development completely at this point.
Exactly this, what a clown.

I should say, Stephens didn't really provide any context for Eakins' comment about Lundestrom so I'm really not sure if it's safe to assume he was being called out.
The way he deploys and the people he puts with Lundestrom give me enough context.

If you want to rebuild Lundestrom’s confidence, perhaps put Terry on his wing?
Or next to Zegras... the guy that needs help defensively.

Does he really have a choice with this roster though? and hes not standing out on either side of the puck. Individual effort goes a long way and I cant say Ive seen it from him.
When both your wingers stand still/have no idea what they are doing defensively it can pull a lot of you playing center with players like that. Not giving him a pass but yeah... our team shows no effort doing anything. I'd like to see him in a Rucchin type role with some better players... Especially on this team when our good players can barely ever get the puck. That will never happen with Eakins in charge though.

There are certain guys that regardless of production at least are giving the effort you want to see. Jones for instance. He probably does the most work with nothing to show for it on the stat sheet, but the effort is there and you can kind of figure what his role is/should be. I just havent seen it from Lundy. I thought at one point he could be our new Sammy P with Jones as a Moen type.

Regardless, We have a roster right now that isnt deep enough, I feel, to spread around the talent just to give a guy a boost. Im not trying to save 1 guy when I have full lines that are ineffective. Im sure at some point there will be a "why the hell not" moment, but that likely to take place after a "come to Jesus" moment.

Im more disappointed with the veteran leadership at this point than the coaching. It all sucks, but it feels like there is a lack of accountability and that a guy like Getz would have been keeping the lockerroom in check. It also doesnt feel like the RC mutiny, this team isnt good enough to demand that kind of respect. Im blabbing now. Post over.

So let me get this straight... We have a coach who has no idea what hes doing.. Than goes to single out players and blame them.. Than we have a GM who basically admitted to tanking this season.. Yah looks like Eakins is here for the tank and with that.. I have officially given up on them being competitive.. No wonder the vets are playing like shit.. Management doesn't even care... Wonder what Samuels's are thinking.

Probably the same thing when they approved the hire? Verbeek spoke a ton about ownership, they're clearly on the same page

In the end.. The owners will look at the bottom line.. That's what owners doo.. If they keep losing like this.. People wont come to the games .
