Ducks shake things up after lineup’s lack of production

FWIW, there's more context on the Lundestrom quote here.
“He’s been treading water,” Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said after Wednesday’s morning skate. “I don’t know if it was three games in a row – or three out of five – where he got dinged up. I know it’s a game and it’s your job but sometimes those are hard to shake off as a player. It takes a little bit of time to be comfortable again.
“Lundy is a hockey nerd. He’s one of those kids you’ve got to drag him off the ice. He works extremely hard at his game. He cares. He’s a 10 out of 10 in all those departments. He’s not a worry. If he’s had an off game or two, he rebounds fairly quickly.”
None of that helps his linemate problem, but...

f*** that, context is for p***yes. I have all the context I need with my own two eyes! Eakins is such a prick for calling out Lundestrom like that! He's gonna ruin all our young players just like he did in Edmonton!
Eakins is a not a good NHL coach, history and the present tells us that. This "hockey" we are playing is non-sense.

What are you basing this on? Do you have a quote from the Sameuli’s you can link?

The widespread notion that Verbeek didn’t explicitly lay out what was likely to happen this year to the owners seems like projection rather than analysis IMO.
Im basing it on being an owner of a business.

I’m also an owner of a business, and would have instantly fired a manager who didn’t tell me their plans that would massively impact the business like this roster.

However, unless the business is a sports franchise, with a draft, and revenue sharing, both our opinions based on our businesses are pretty worthless to discuss this topic.

How does one develop correctly in this environment? It's like we are raising newborns in a crackhouse.
I dunno ask Landeskog, Mackinnon, and Rantanen, they all developed in a similar situation and they all turned out just fine, you could probably add Duchene and Barrie to that list too but they were a little older although that might just make them even more applicable because the Avs were shit for years before that historically bad season outside of that one outlier season that they got bounced in the first round before returning to being bad for a few more years.

Or I could ask the Coyotes, Oilers and Buffalo. Hopefully we win the lottery like the Oilers.

Sure, Dahlin & Eichel (minus Eichel's injury problems) both turned out just fine being on an awful Sabres team and McDavid and Draisaitl both turned out just fine being on an awful Oilers team, both teams were horrifically mismanaged for years a problem I don't think we have at the moment despite the ardent Verbeek haters on the board and both teams have turned it around under new management (or are beginning to turn it around in the Sabres case)

I think the people that think one bad season is going to completely destroy the development of our young players must not think very highly of our young players because if they are so mentally weak that they can't handle being on a bad team for a little bit how can we ever expect them to have the fortitude to face future adversity in the playoffs and compete for the cup.

And we don't even need to win the lottery anyone in that top 5 is instantly the player with the highest ceiling on our entire team, you could probably make that argument for the entire top 10.

I don't think one "bad" season would. But I think THIS season may, this is the worst most unstructured team I've maybe ever seen.... they also play as hard as most do at 10:20pm Tuesday night beer league games. The vets are an embarrassment, Silf, Henrique, Fowler, Klingberg, Shattenkirk. I have trouble thinking our young players will improve their puck skills at the NHL level if we never have the puck.... not only do they not have the puck there's literally zero structure, think about it has a single player other than maybe Terry improved defensively since Eakins took over? They need game reps and this environment is horrible.

Or Fantilli, Michkov, Yager, or Carlsson. It's a good year to be in the top-5 for the draft if you need a forward.
Definitely I just hope it doesn't come at the expense of our current prospects development.

Say they’re like 5-17-3 or something after 25 games. I think you have to just do a mercy dismissal at that point.

They have lost 7 straight games and which they have been dominated in 70 percent of those games.. If they Dont make a change after next loss... Than 100% Verbeek is tanking.. He doesn't care.. about this year..

Tanking for a player/s you may not even get, and/ or have never played a game in the nhl .... while risking the development of your current young players + losing a good chunk of an already small, fickle fanbase isn't good business.

I've been patient and hung in there for the past 5 playoff-less years, but if this shit show continues past Christmas, I'm likely taking an extended break from the Ducks. It's just not worth my time watching this train wreck.
