Christ, scouts and coaches love Gaucher just like they loved McTavish give the kid some time to develop as a player
Finished 1+2, second star of the game.Mintyukov has added a second assist.
As I say that he gets a fighting major in the third period, appears he also received an instigator. Nice!A stat that is interesting to me is mintyukov has taken one minor penalty in 17 games.
And again4 years from now, people will be blaming Static for getting their hopes up about our prospect pool

And again
Thanks for all of this Static
Why? Some of the greatest players of all time/greatest players in the league right now came from the Q and a Q team has won the Memorial Cup 6 out of the last 10 times it's been held.I can't take the Q seriously compared to most the other leagues lol
I just have a bias I guess, OHL whl shl ncaa usa development etc. (not in order) I like moreWhy? Some of the greatest players of all time/greatest players in the league right now came from the Q and a Q team has won the Memorial Cup 6 out of the last 10 times it's been held.
The Q is kind of like under the radar, but I'm not convinced it's for a good reason. IIRC their players won some conditioning tests? And as @goonsaredumb mentioned, they have won a good share of Memorial Cups, even tho the last one was weird. Sea Dogs were so rested, while the Bulldogs were completely gassed and banged up.I just have a bias I guess, OHL whl shl ncaa usa development etc. (not in order) I like more
Minty looks like the real deal…. Glad he was so underrated at the draft and we were able to snag him.A bit of a comparison:
Minty now has a better PPG rate than Zellweger. Minty is #5 best scorer overall in the OHL. He is #10 in the +/- in the OHL.
As for the PPG rate, Zell is basically the same as Minty, with a bit more goals than him tho. But Zellweger is worst on his team in +/- at -5 which is not really good for one of the best teams in the league
Have watched Q games and OHL games live recently. I'd say the top end talent is comparable, the best teams in both leagues tend to stack up fairly close. But the Q doesn't have quite as deep of a talent pool, overall ends up being more of a watered down league. Throughout the Q there are kids from Ontario who played in the OHL awhile but were cut and waived through the league - or kids from Ontario junior A/B (Junior C in Hunter Drew's case) teams who couldn't quite crack the OHL.
